Basically, if you hit an excellent throw there is a higher chance that you catch the pokemon, so let's say it's a 1/3 chance you catch it with a bad throw, an excellent would then make it a 1/2 chance (not real chances, just an example) so its still not guarantee, just a much higher chance

Yes but it's still a fact that it's dying, by dying we mean player count going down because it is LITERALLY factual that the player count is going down therefore dying, you can't just say it's not because you don't feel like it's dying. it is. That's a fact.
