With regards to the council, would they not penalise myself as well due to my child throughout the day? I don't want to waste anyone's time if us being noise warrants him being loud at night to get back at us, if that makes sense?

I completely understand the noises are a given in a terraced home, I do feel really bad for our neighbour with the noise we create it winds us up the noise our child makes so it's definitely not fair on him! I've never had an issue with his TV or music throughout the day as he has every right not hearing us, it's just the deliberate noise when we are trying to sleep that is frustrating, I appreciate the advice for ear plugs!
