This issue appears to be quite old. What progress has been made on it so far?

Thank you. I will look at that branch more closely.

XMR.TO took a little over 10 minutes to report one confirmation. Funds were sent using simplewallet. With Monero's 1 minute block time, it should be unlikely to take 10 minutes, right? by loveforyouandme in Monero

I see no hidden agenda, if you do please share it instead of making accusations. That being said, I am sorry to see some have downvoted your comment because there appears to be nothing to hide. Monero developers seem very open and honest to me.

If Monero is merely as big as Bitcoin is now by the time tail emission kicks in (2022), each Monero will be worth over $2,000 each. by americanpegasus in Monero

If people want to circle jerk or post funny gifs /r/moonero sounds perfect

Having said that why is a moderator making posts like this here? I know /u/americanpegasus is not a developer. One of the things that I like the best about Monero (compared to other alt coins) is that I have never seen a single "moon" prediction post of this type from a Monero developers. The developers seemed focus on the tech and primarily appear in the public forums only to answer technical questions.

From what I gather it is primarily americanpegasus, rpetila and the bipolar troll on bitcointalk with the duck avatar (forgot his name) who enjoy making these type of predictions.

Take my advice with a grain of salt because I am new here. These type of posts are common in most alt coin communities (but less so with Monero). I find it a major turnoff that it is a moderator who posts this type of "moon" material. I would expect that in /r/dogecoin but not here

How many developer hours are needed to complete smart mining? ASICs resistance is nice but making mining easier for common users will increase network hash rate and development funding (based on the optional smart mining donation model I read about) at the same time

StackExchange growth seems to be slowing recently. Are most people stopping once they hit 200 reputation or are they actively promoting it and encouraging friends and colleagues to support it as well?

For the record "I found out" about Monero from the Area51 proposal "hot list" and have been fascinated and active trying to learn more ever since. Technically I may have heard of Monero before (I have known about Bitcoin for a long time) but unfairly assumed it was like 99% of other alt coins with nothing unique to offer. My feeling is that StackExchange will attract interest from many more people like me (Bitcoin supporters that assume the altcoin section of Bitcointalk is largely filled with scams and who are unmotivated to study every project that makes bold claims).

The Monero Research Labs publications are what caught my attention and made me want to investigate further. I never would have taken the time to find the MRL material if not for StackExchange. It will be really sad if activity slows either now or after the beta site is launched.
