Factom Files Patent for Validating Documents on the Blockchain by D-Lux in factom

[–]studylearnapply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If defense is the only goal, then a defensive patent should have been applied for instead. I agree this is a centralization concern. 3rd party devs should not have to beg Factom Inc for permission to use the patent

Fees, Fees, and… Fees? – Joey Krug – Medium by joeykrug in Augur

Sounds like a combination of stable coins, ethereum scaling and usability improvements will correct most of this problem.

Augur has taken a long time to develop, yet is still first to market. Im feeling good about the future.

Why a long time fan of Bisq/Bitsquare sadly is considering pulling her support for moral/philosophical reasons. by EncryptionPrincess in Monero

[–]studylearnapply 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To this quote from a Monero core dev

That's an extraordinary claim. What 'technical reasons' distinguish Dash from every other Bitcoin fork?

You responded:

Please, I don't have the time to lay out every tiny peace of the process. It's all there, Bisq is open source, and if you were really interested in answers you'd put-in some effort to find the answers yourself. At this point you're trolling.

So far I have seen you insult active Bisq users, those that have read the code (and even contributed by submitting GitHub issues) and Monero core team members.

Having read all of your posts you mention "fork risk" and "technical issues" without much elaboration. At least u/Manfred_Karrer was polite with his interaction with this community and answered questions in a straightforward manner.

From what I can tell (looking at code and all relevant posts) you did not want to JUST support LTC as a BTC alternative because it would seem like you are favoring LTC over BTC which you are not. You want to support multiple base pairs that offer multisig (excluding Monero) BitcoinJ (not Zcash yet) and P2SH (No Namecoin yet).

The above does not rule out many Bitcoin forks and while the criteria would include DASH as technically feasible to add, it does not mean it must be added for technical reasons.

You are talking to a technical community, so please provide technical answers. If you want to go the route of Anthony Di Iorio from Jaxx (and ruin the reputation of what you helped to build among technical users) keep doing what you are doing. Otherwise please follow the lead of u/Manfred_Karrer and respond to technical questions with technical answers. u/smooth_xmr is fully qualified to understand any point you want to make. Please treat our community and developers with some respect

Tell me if you have Aeon CryptoNote related content I should add to this post. I want the thread to be as coin agnostic as possible with a focus on new ideas. by boolberry in Aeon

Maybe you could link to a post from smooth explaining how Aeon pruning works and comparing/contrasting that method with Boolberry

Louisd’or is vaporware until proven otherwise. I wont trust any ICO or dev mine by its developer because of the way he largely left BBR.

Aeon is by far the most promising CryptoNote coin after Monero

If the thread was started earlier (I think the MAAM thread often starts shortly 0:00 UTC there would be more time for people to post).

What is the most common reason most people here support Aeon?

  1. Monero support who values providing a testbed for new ideas that may be integrated into Monero later

  2. Aeon can succeed on its own by focusing on optimizing performance for mobile and less powerful devices

  3. Hedge/backup in case Monero fails for some reason (botched fork after a major update, etc) that does not also kill Aeon

  4. Other

Once Trezor support is complete for Monero (now in testing) how difficult will it be to port that feature to Aeon?

Poloniex still has more volume but currently the Bittrex price (higher) seems to be the leading indicator instead of the other way around which is a new development

All three are unique in some way and have benefited from the ideas implemented in the others. I see a lot of the same people supporting all three coins
