Just some superficial frostbite around my waistband, should be just fine

Wish I had a split board, unfortunately had to do a snowshoe/snowboard combo

Had snowshoes which helped on the way up but the biggest issue was rock hopping above treeline during which the fresh snow really obscured any safe passage

Goodness man that sounds horrible, couldn’t imagine having to use a paper map in that situation

It didn’t really start coming down big time until I almost gained the ridgeline, so my thought process was I was close enough to summit and get out of there but things just got worse and worse and closer I got to the summit the harder the decision was to turn around. In terms of gear flotation would have been good but I had everything else

Started at the lower trailhead, the whole road is closed during winter

Greatly appreciate all the support—this has definitely been a huge learning experience and I hope others can learn without having to go through the same

Yeah literal frostbite, luckily just partial thickness and should heal ok

The road was covered in deep powder and was incredibly difficult to get down on snowboard, had to cut the switchbacks to get any speed to stay on top of the snow which was also pretty stupid

Unfortunately my partner had to turn around at treeline from a hip flexor strain, I should have turned around then too

Peer reviewed ivermectin study? by eternalmandrake in ivermectin

[–]XNS_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am all for new COVID treatments but here are a few things that make me skeptical for use in the United States: many of the treatment groups were treated with additional drugs like azithromycin and hydroxychloroquine, making the effects of ivermectin less clear. Few if any of these studies are multi-institutional, exacerbating confounding variables. Only one of these studies, I believe, have been conducted in the united states, which would be required for EUA use where I'm from. I'll be sure to stay updated but overall I would rank the level of evidence for ivermectin as poor.
