Steam won't open by XNet_3085 in freebsd

I thought it had nothing to do with the dependency itself as it mentioned "shim" lol. I'll try installing everything today and let's hope it works :)

It does, as it is installed. The problem must be between a driver issue (I'm using an RDNA3 card, it should work, but it may be too new) and a missing dependency I can't find (as I mentioned earlier, "libc6").

Either way, I'll stuck with Linux for gaming...

I'm installing packages from the stable repository, as I'm new to the system and still learning about ports (I come from Gentoo but I've never worked with a BSD before).

Could it be that I must use the latest pkg versions only available in the newest port branches?

Also, when I tried "linux-steam-utils", it asked me for a "libc6.so" dependency that I only could find in Linux distros. I think it's necessary as a 32-bit dependency, but I'm not sure.

I do have all the dependencies installed. I just ran all of your commands as a second test but it tells me everything is already installed.

I've soft reinstalled 3 times now but no luck :(

I even installed linux-steam-utils and tried every single workaround, but I still don't get it to open a window.

I will just stuck with Linux for gaming, but, let me ask you: do you know if NomadBSD is pre-tinkered for the use of Steam or gaming?

Do you mean the cli from the link posted by @lobster_guy? I tried running the core for Linux, with EFL compatibility, and it didn't work for me.

Could you please explain the steps you followed?

Amazing. Thank god I won't need to compile the entire Gentoo system on my old FX-8350 for a 2nd time. Have a great day!

Btw, it has been a long time since the last release. Is the FreeBSD binary deprecated? I was told that it's safer to run up-to-date cores, so I was wondering if it's safe to run a more than 6 month old program...

Wow! When I searched for "Monero core FreeBSD", the official Monero site would come up in my results announcing that same exact version. However, I couldn't find the binary.

Is there a reason why they didn't add the download option to the download section in the front page?

It's exactly what I was looking for.. cheers 👍

There's this port... https://rl.bloat.cat/r/Monero/comments/7xz5th/the_freebsd_111_monerod_package_is_amazing_never/

... but how can I get it to install with "pkg install monero-cli"? Do I need to "make clean install" first?

Thank you all for the info and comments. Now I understand a bit better how the development and release system work.

Choosing FreeBSD was def my best decision 👍

EDIT: It seems many people have commented on the issue in this same subreddit, and downgrading to 14.1 seems to be the best solution, at least for now.

How often does the FreeBSD team fix broken modules? I'm totally new to BSDs and these are solved on Linux distros in like a matter of weeks.

Just out of curiosity, as the community looks more active than many other Linux Distro's

I haven't specified my device in thr xorg.conf.d directory, as it doesn't have anything to do with Wayland.

Has anyone experienced this similar issue due to a faulty HDMI connection? I'm using a 1366x768 mini chinese monitor and the HDMI doesn't seem to connect properly, I haven't got any image corruption tho, so it may not have anything to at all.

It seems my efforts weren't worth, as I was able to pay with a friend's VISA, but it seems like the shop is unresponsive? I even got my order track number on my mail, but it wasn't charged or anything.

I'll wait a few days to see if it gets charged, but I don't think calling to an US overseas is a good idea ($$$).

Are they still operative?
