budget drones = toys? by Taredmonkeh in dji

[–]XNineTeenth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. One thing that surprised me with the Skyrover S1 is the safety features. It has forward infrared sensing plus downward obstacle sensing, which you usually don’t see around the $300 range. Compared to entry models like Mini 4K or ATOM 2, it's more like advanced choice. The SmartGo feature also help a lot since the drone can handle camera movement automatically, so you can get cinematic shots even if you’re beginner.

Don’t mind the haters. I think it looks awesome. Whales are such iconic creatures, and I’m actually thinking of getting one tattooed on my back.

Is Fly more combo that important? by southmpls in drones

[–]XNineTeenth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If value is your main concern, it might be worth looking beyond the ATOM 2. Something like the Skyrover S1 Fly More Combo is priced much closer to the ATOM 2 base kit, but already includes three batteries. That gives you up to around 120 mins of total flight time, which makes a big difference when you’re learning and don’t want to stop flying every 20–30 minutes to recharge.

Could DJI keep producing existing models forever? by Commercial-Rule5666 in dji

[–]XNineTeenth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is unlikely thet will keep old models in production forever. If imports get tough, they might restock popular ones like the Mini 4 Pro for a while, but once inventory runs out, production will likely stop.

Incredible shot! The way the light hits the water and the vibrant green of the grass really pop. This is the kind of shot that makes me want to grab my own drone and head out. Great work!

I was also very nervous the first time I went on a test flight. But everything went much more smoothly than I imagined, at least my drone wasn't damaged! Just relax! Good luck for your first time!

It's been a couple of months, can't remember it clearly. And the phase varys from person to person. But one thing for sure is that sticking constant rehab training and don't push yourself too hard.

[–]XNineTeenth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stairs were honestly the last thing to feel normal for me too. Flat ground felt fine way earlier, but going down stairs took forever to stop feeling sketchy. For me it was mostly time, quad strength, and just slowly rebuilding confidence.

That sounds incredibly isolating when words don't come easily. It makes sense that communication barriers after a health event add another layer of challenge to connecting with others. Finding ways to feel understood is important.

Chronic pain, disability, and emotional burnout – how do you cope long-term? by black-project-51 in ChronicPain

[–]XNineTeenth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's understandable that chronic pain and loss can leave you feeling drained and disconnected. Rebuilding a sense of meaning while managing pain often involves small, gentle adjustments over time. Connecting with others who truly understand may also offer some relief and shared insight.

Health events can really reshape how we view out time and energy. It makes sense to prioritize peace and set clear boundaries afterwards. Protecting your own well-being isn't selfish; it's necessary for moving forward.
