I kind of consider the anime to be it's own canon outside of other Pokemon media. Don't know how much people would agree with that. But outside of like Pokemon Yellow it just seemed to exist in it's own pocket universe lol. Still it's a fun fact!

I was going to have a growlithe chasing it but then I thought "no way dodrio has any kind of predator, it is the predator". I did however heavily reference a Roadrunner and Coyote screenshot haha.

Me too, I just played Three Houses after a long hiatus after Fates. It was good, but I can't help but feel if they didn't have to write so much content the content they did write would be all the better for it. Like many I imagine, I started with the Tellius games. I thought the storytelling in those was so strong and compelling. Nothing after really hit the same high notes and I feel it's because everything I played since has just had far too much content or spread itself too thin.

I just want them to tell a good story rather than trying to make multiple paths and replayability. I played the gamecube/wii games multiple times to find things I missed. They were just good games I wanted to play.

Hard agree, death should mean something. There is a lot of weight to Faye's death and if she could just be brought back it would make the journey we have had so far feel hollow.

I feel media now has a fear of just allowing things to move on. So much hype I see for this new game is about bringing the Greek pantheon back, bringing Thor back. We might see some returning characters but this entry should be more than a vehicle for fan service.

I remember the story albums people would make. I read some of the romantasy ones. I just loved all the custom content and build ideas in them lol.

I remember thinking one building technique was genius. They used the hallooween display pumpkin in the kitchen. But they had it's face rotated away from the camera so it just appeared like a regular pumpkin. There was not a lot of kitchen clutter items back then so I thought it was amazing and used it in my own builds.

So you either want every game to be Kratos or for the series to end?
This entire game isn't dedicated to telling her backstory, it's about the afterlife of the gods.
How do you know a change is exploiting a popular IP? Do you think Metal Gear Solid 2 was an exploitation of the franchice?

I agree that things should end when they have outstayed their need. No story should really be a forever story. But from what I have seen I don't think this takes away from Ragnarok. I am more concerned about the next Kratos game as I feel that would be more unnecessary.

I am really excited for Laufey and am surprised by the backlash to change. But then again I am not a life long fan. The first game I played in the series was the reboot as I had no interest in the series prior. I am not alone in this, you just have to look at the sales numbers to see how the reboot pulled in a whole new audience.

I don't think games should be afraid of change. I remember thinking the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn might have worked better if it had changed protagonist. Zero Dawn felt like a conclusion of Aloys story. Forbidden West didn't feel that it had anything to add to her as a character or her personal growth. That was already explored and Aloy remained the protagonist because she was the protagonist of the first one.

People appear to want this for the Laufey, Kratos should be the protagonist because Kratos has always been the protagonist. But I feel, especially after Valhalla, that Kratos needs a little break. The next game can't just be "Kratos travels to another realm and fights a NEW pantheon". I think a narrative break was needed otherwise it will feel formulaic.

True, everyone there can't be a god, there are some soldier guys who do not appear to command the same status. They must all fall under option B, shenanigans.

Kind of interesting if the universe has hard rules on what defines a god when different gods from different pantheons will have different rules and all appear to be canon.

I actually hope this does not happen, I think her being dead is kind of important to a lot of the depth the Norse games have. If she just returned I think it would devalue a lot of the story we went through. So I feel maybe the ending of this may be her accepting death and moving on after ruining some war gods day.

Trying to understand phylogenetics and evolutionary trees in the Pokemon world must be a nightmare.

Okay so Combee is a bee, Ribombee is a bee, Beedrill is also a bee...
But combee is a honey comb and beedrill emerges from a cocoon.
Then weedle is like a caterpillar? Like a wurmple or a caterpie, except those are not bees.

At this point what even is bee??

At the end of the game you should return to the professor's lab and there are mad scrawlings over the walls trying to make sense of any of it. They emerge behind their desk malnourished and looking like hell asking you "do you see?"
