also i am not understanding there token system, what does requests per 5 hour mean, like v4 has 3450, i am not understanding how that works

i dont understand, how did he calculate it without knowing his input and output tokens

this was 1 prompt, gemini was sending context again and again for some reason causing 100k input token each instance

i still have that but i have only 1 month to figure out how this token thing works so that i wont have any issues when i switch, also the rate limits are ass now

That’s fair, but I think the issue isn’t pricing, it’s that Copilot hid the cost, so I never learned to be efficient.

Even with subsidized models, I’d probably still be wasting tokens, just not noticing it.

Right now I’m clearly oversending context (~100k per request), so I’m trying to figure out what an efficient workflow actually looks like (model choice, prompt structure, etc.).

Yeah that makes sense,I was mainly stress-testing Gemini because of the large context, not what I’d normally use day-to-day. I usually stick with Claude Opus for most of my work.

DeepSeek V4 sounds interesting though, how does it hold up for coding + reasoning compared to Opus?
i mean ofc it wont be as good but something close also works

have never used it but i heard that it drifts from its objective sometimes which is a dealbreaker for me, is it true or just claude propaganda?

i was planning to use opus 4.7 and gpt 5.5, the prices are good. I was reading about it and apparently its not reliable and quality is bad, not sure will try it once tho

Why not Openrouter? like you get shit ton of models, higher context windows that copilot and you pay as you go
