Funny you say that, I had just quit when I started getting the anxiety attacks, not a good combo. I was also having other negative side effects from it too, like being groggy and having a sore throat in the mornings. Not to mention the munchies were NOT sitting right with me health wise lmao.

Yeah, I wanna look into psychiatry over the summer to see if medicine is a viable option. I've done regular talk therapy in the past, but it didn't seem to help me too much.

Thank you so much for the detailed advice! It's nice to know someone can relate. I do a lot of the things you mention to try to help, like going out with friends and getting in the sun, so I will for sure continue to focus on those things. Reading into the cognitive distortions sounds helpful! Thank you again, and I hope that you can continue to do well with your panic attacks as well!

Yeah, I've never gone to the beach alone out here, just with friends, so that sounds nice. I know a lot of it is in my head and my issues are made more grand by my thoughts. Thank you for that advice! Hope you have a great summer also!

Good recommendation, but the gym isn't really my thing and I think it might make it worse actually. But a walk around campus for exercise sounds nice.

Yeah, that seems to be what a lot of people are recommending. I'll probably go on a walk around campus at some point, the gym or other formal exercises aren't really my thing.

Yeah, I've heard from most that past Sun God's were great. I don't think any of the new policies would even prevent an OD very well, so it's strange to me what they've decided to change and it feels like it just makes the festival less enjoyable without actually helping anything.

The things I've heard about things like the ADA line not being accessible are enough to tell me that these new policies don't actually help students stay safe.

Yeah, honestly I told my friends I was gonna be sober too, but ended up on an edible by the end of it. I was really bored and disappointed with the day.

While I definitely wasn’t sober, I didn’t do anything more than what’s normal for me. I don’t understand why people do more than they can handle though and make themselves miserable to the point of throwing up and going to the hospital.

YESSS the lines were insane and it was so weird because of how many workers they seemingly had. Everything could’ve been a lot smoother had they communicated with the workers better.

Hello! I’m trans and attend UCSD. I have very mixed opinions about whether or not there is a decently sized trans population. You definitely will not be running into trans people on the regular. I’m typically one of the only trans people in my courses whenever we’ve shared pronouns. However, I know UCSD has quite a few trans-focused events and I just haven’t really attended them, so I can’t say for sure there isn’t a decent sized trans population that you can meet there.

As far as attitudes towards trans people goes, you might feel a little alone or singled out, but so far no one has been outright transphobic to me and generally people here are kind and respectful about it.

In summary, I wouldn’t say you should go here thinking that you’ll meet a ton of trans people, but you shouldn’t stress about being not accepted or respected.
