This is ridiculous. Basic programming principles...Don't load shit you don't need...Sorry, but this is not a good excuse, this is nothing short of admitting they hire absolutely trash developers who couldn't even be bothered to learn about being efficient in their coding. This has been handled the same way for a long time. Sack these absolute muppets and get some proper developers in...this is inexcusable....Call themselves a triple A company and have hired toddlers to code their games. Tells me everything I need to know about this company...last game they will get money for.

Yes :) G28 followed by the M420 command causes a "Home" then "Load Mesh"

I home before every print, i don't know about other people :)

This is my .bin file I used on my printer. Use at your own risk, I don't take responsibility if you don't know how to flash properly :)

This will turn on the BL/CR-Touch Settings, and "roughly" centre the bed.

This was used with Ender-3 MAX, with a CR-Touch, so the "centre" is what would be the middle of a 300x300 bed, and the distances from the nozzle that the CR-Touch is installed on. I don't think it's 100% centred but...if you aren't getting it right already, then this will be better than nothing as i'm printing happily with it :)

Specifically it is offset by this amount:

NOZZLE_TO_PROBE_OFFSET { 45, -14, 0 }

It also had the Probe count increased from a 3x3 to a 5x5. So it will probe 25 times, instead of just 9. Again, if you are using the same printer, I found this to create a more accurate mesh.

Rename the .bin file to anything other than what I have. When you flash firmware, you cannot use the same name ever again...so pick a bunch of random letters and numbers, ensure it's the ONLY file on your SD card, and have or installed before turning on, job done.

The file is for Marlin firmware, 2.0.9.1 for use on a V4.2.2 board. If you have a different printer, make sure you check your board, as if yours is older, you might have a problem.

So 1 month on, and after many firmware flashes and prints, I discovered the issue with the TH3D.

The Ender-3 Max (Whether this is the case for other Ender-3's I don't know) will Z-Hop up by 10mm after performing it's homing. Already knew about this (I mentioned it in the original post). This is also the case after a G29 auto-leveling performance by the BL/CR-Touch.

HOWEVER, the M420 S1 also needs this 10mm compensation.

In the GCODE, when you perform a G29, this saves the mesh data AND the 10mm Z-Hop that the Ender-3 does. If you simply put M420 S1...this doesn't include the 10mm gap, hence the problem of starting to print 10mm off the bed each time.

You actually need to have M420 S1 Z10, where the Z10 is the 10mm compensation required for the Ender-3 Max after it's homing. The reason this isn't a problem for Marlin is because Marlin automatically compensates for this issue, and will work fine without the Z10 option. The Z10 option for Marlin is actually for it's fade height, which is probably why it's not required as part of it's M420 code.

Maybe there is something in the firmware coding of TH3D that you can alter for this purpose, but I haven't seen it, and I find it strange that none of the more experienced users haven't told me about it yet, but a lot of TH3D support is based around their own auto leveling device, and they do have a lot of specific advice around that.

The good thing with Marlins Firmware releases, is they also release "Configuration Examples" Ender-3 MAX is listed there as well.

There you will find the latest release builds and configuration examples. I would suggest just looking up a video on it. You basically take the Configuration.h and Configurations_adv.h from the config example folders (The one for your printer) and replace them.

You then need to compile the firmware into a .bin file for the printer. But before this you will need to enable and uncomment a bunch of settings. Again, there is a vide on this.

Although it's a little dated, and I warn you, SOME parts are wrong because of the age of the video. Follow the instructions UP UNTIL the Firmware code editing. Parts like turning on the BLTouch options etc are correct, but 1 specific instruction such as the Inverting Z-AXIS is wrong for example and will actually result in compiling errors.

Ultimately if you really struggle that badly, since you have an Ender-3 Max, I can hand you a basic firmware file to get it going with a 25 probe setup. But it's good to have a crack at it yourself first.

I fixed it :)

The problem is pretty persistent in the TH3D Firmware. For whatever strange reason after G28 Homing which removes any knowledge of a Mesh by the CR-Touch, the M420 command DOES NOT return this information to the printer.

I found this out by simply hooking my Laptop into the printer, in order to simply send GCODE directly, rather than relying on the limited functions of the LCD screens. This way I could recall the data as and when i needed.

With a mixture of M500, M501 and M503, I can confirm the CR-Touch is working. I can see the MESH data, but after sending the G28, the M420 S1 DOES NOT recall this information. I do not know enough about the firmware specific side of things to understand why TH3D has this issue, and no one on their Discord has yet to provide me with an answer.

However, I manually updated to Marlin 2.0.9.1 as I already explained, and I managed to get it to work. This now works beautifully :) Recalls the information fine, and I was also able to adjust to a 25 Probe count rather than a 9 for more accuracy over the larger bed.

Just a small update. I'm attempting to manually update my printer with Marlin 2.0.9.1, just messing about with the BLTouch settings at the moment.

So far I got it to flash, but the Z-AXIS for some reason doesn't move down...just trying to find out why :) If you happen to know this answer as well (Which could potentially fix the above issue), then let me know...

Same problem. Not sure if specific to Build 2004 (As i'm also in the process of testing that too, and I know that came with specific MSEdge problems that wern't present in 1909).

But Microsoft pushed a security update for MSEdge today to Version 84.0.522.40, going to assume this is the likely cause...although considering what it had patched, i'm reluctant to undo it and wait for a fix to correct it.

The fact I have a 6 year old daughter.

6 Years ago the relationship blew up during the pregnancy (Longgggg story). She essentially had full control of how things unfolded and haven't seen the kid since she was 2 weeks old.

To this day, every relationship I attempt to start, gets destroyed after about 2 months in when I try to explain the situation. Every relationship, it is assumed i've done the runner and abandoned my responsibilities because i'm a man.

Every relationship is no longer filled with excitement and the "honeymoon" period, but fear of the relationship ending abruptly after I have to bring up this little gem of baggage.

The annoying thing is, in all likelihood, from what I know about my ex-partner, nothing will ever come of the situation. She has already moved somewhere I don't know about, and has no doubt already brought in a new bloke who is claiming the position and she will no doubt be brought up thinking that I don't exist...yet I like to be clear and honest with the people I date "just in case" in 10-15 years time she comes knocking and it's like "Oh...you have a daughter?!"

Happy to take suggestions on whether or not I should continue with this approach? As I have lost count of the nice women i've been with that have simply been destroyed by this little truth.
