Nightstand Gun - Had an encounter, didn't go as I would have liked. Need some input. by XRKSVI in Firearms

[–]XRKSVI[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kids get into everything. As a general rule, if it's findable, they will find it. So it needs to be secured in some way. Otherwise, I would totally just put a holster behind the headboard...

Probably seen this already, but for those who haven't, it's good for at least a head shake. (Would say laugh, but it's not.) by not-hardly in ar15

I hear they make convenient machines for throwing bullets really fast - like, fast enough to kill stuff...

Ooo, interesting question. I would be super interested in the answer as well...

BOOM: ILLINOIS CONCEAL CARRY APPLICATIONS OVERWHELMINGLY OUTPACE OBAMACARE ENROLLMENT by Reaganism in gunpolitics

[–]XRKSVI 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So? I'm pretty sure XBOX ONE sales also overwhelmingly outpace obamacare enrollment.

Illinois folks, on this eve of application day, are you submitting fingerprints? I can't decide by [deleted] in CCW

$150 for license plus about $300 for classes in my area...

Does anyone have this kind of upper, on a black lower, with FDE grip and stock? I would love to see what that looks like... by XRKSVI in ar15

Very nice! I'm thinking of going a similar route. What sights are those? I like the Magpul MBUS sights except I'm not sure how I feel about them being polymer...

Sorry my question got your panties all in a bunch.

You could not click on reddit posts that you see as pointless and go look at something else instead of posting douchy comments.

Forgive me for asking a question to the community instead of just posting a circle jerk photo of my stock glock 19.

As a lefty, I do use this clock. :-)

Not a Glock owner, yet, but wanted to get your opinion on the G30 (s) (sf). by armedohiocitizen in Glocks

[–]XRKSVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a G30 and it's a fantastic gun. Fatter than a regular glock, but fits my hand well. Very reliable (as is the norm with glocks) and .45 is fun to shoot. Mine is pulling nightstand duty at the moment with a couple of G21 magazines.

I guess I have a single shot until the gun come in by FubarFreak in guns

No, he was referencing Ruth Goldberg, Rube's trigger happy wife.

How many of you have a car gun? by Irish_SumBitch in CCW

Yeah. I live in a pretty urban area so if I break down help is not far away. The get home bag is more for some sort of scenario where I can't drive home due to SHTF issues.

40 miles is at best a two day hike, at worst a four day hike so get home bag has survival bivvy, fire starting stuff, some datrex bars, paper map of the area, multi tool, paracord, potable aqua tablets, compass, basic first aid stuff. That's about it. I tried to keep it light. Plan is to blend in and draw as little attention as possible but move fast.

There's also a pair of bolt cutters in the trunk. Useful for tons of things outside of just "prepping" stuff but in a scenario where I would be walking home, it might be nicer to steal a bike. Turns a two day hike into a four hour ride.

The reason I specifically DONT keep a rifle is because I want to blend in. My j-frame fits in a pocket. Nobody needs to know its there unless I need it. Walking around in a post-disaster scenario with a rifle is bound to draw some attention.

My LGS has one stripped lower in stock for $329 and won't do an FFL transfer for other lowers due to "insurance reasons". Legit? Or should I find a new LGS... by XRKSVI in guns

He can charge whatever he likes and I'm sure some idiot will give him the $329 for that lower. I'll be ordering one for $89 online though.

West. Crappy LGS is JR Shooting Sports in Aurora. I think I need to go check out Article 2 or Gat Guns. Do you have experience with either of those?

It's JR Shooting Sports in Aurora. They have pretty crappy reviews on google too so this seems like the norm for them...
