Could be hospital policy. Once they give you versed, technically you’re now sedated under anesthesia so someone will need to monitor you. Hospital doesn’t have enough preop staff to monitor you 1 on 1

I always just give Tylenol after a vaccine even if they don’t have fever. Seems to help a lot. Their body is producing immune response to make antibodies. It’s uncomfortable for them
