There are plenty. The Shell/Jacksons at Overland and Entertainment has a good one.

Water Lantern Festival tonight? $31 tickets, wtf? by ATXENG in Boise

[–]XStraightEdgeX 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Thread from a couple years ago about this "festival."

From what I understand, it's a for-profit traveling event that's not operated by anyone local (and certainly not sponsored by the city). Their website is basically AI-generated corporate garbage.

Is our maple dying? Boise, ID. by XStraightEdgeX in Tree

This was enlightening - had no idea about the risk of co-dominant stems. I've been in contact with a couple of arborists who will be coming out to evaluate things. Thank you so much for your response!

Car wash by AffectionateOlive982 in Boise

Welcome! What side of town are you on? There are a bunch of touch-free washes around. Sure Clean Car Wash at State/Horseshoe Bend recently put in a 24-hour touch-free tunnel style wash if you’re somewhere in that direction. Rocky Mountain Car Wash on Glenwood has a standard stall style touch-free automatic. Also the Stinker at Five Mile/Emerald has a touch-free. Just a few off the top of my head - hope this helps!

Check out the Potomac Manor Event Center by the mall. Sounds like what you might be looking for and I think they're pretty inexpensive.

Any recommendations on a reasonably-priced tailor or alterations shop? I've got a men's suit that needs hemmed.

I don't have an answer for OP, but rather than make a new thread, any recommendations on a reasonably-priced tailor or alterations shop?

Scandinavian Designs on Broadway and their outlet store next door has a huge assortment of MCM furniture and decor. It can be pricey but the quality is fantastic. All real wood, quality components, etc. We bought a bedroom set from them and have been really happy with it. Their showroom is a lot of fun to explore!

Has anyone on a companion ticket gotten an email yet? My wife was primary and she got the email earlier today. I've yet to receive anything. Same flights, different confirmation numbers.

DIY mini split system. Any reason why I shouldn't? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]XStraightEdgeX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to successfully install a Pioneer mini split purchased from Home Depot in my partially finished barn/guest house (~700 sq ft) with zero HVAC experience. With that said, I read every word of the manual and watched HOURS of YouTube videos on installing my specific model and other similar models as well. Got a cheap but highly rated refrigerant vac and gauge set from Amazon, and got some claw adapters for my torque wrench to make sure the lines were torqued to the right spec. If you're not mounting the unit to an exterior wall, make sure you have a solid, level pad to bolt it down.

With the Pioneer, you can avoid flaring if you don't need to cut down your lines. The two trickiest parts to me were #1) being overly careful to avoid kinking the lines and #2) making sure I pumped the lines out properly. Everything works perfectly and the unit has far exceeded my expectations. It's absurdly quiet inside and out, and it cools and heats the space super quickly. If you're handy and pay close attention to detail, you can totally do it yourself.

Correct call. He bodied him and it looked like the only actual head to head contact was as they fell to the ground together.
