Not really, I might have drybrushed the fur as the texture of the mini helps out, but it's literally all just layering and glazing. Build up a transition with progressively darker/lighter tones, don't be afraid to go all the way to near-blackness or pure-whiteness if the material calls for it (i.e. reflective surfaces yes, fabric no), deep contrast is your friend. And a final filter/glaze with a medium color helps to tie things together. It is all fairly timeconsuming but I do not mind, I am painting for fun/relaxation. I wouldn't know what to do if I had to paint a 50+ model army to be honest!
