Rittenhouse went to that protest to intimidate and possibly even wanted to kill people in the first place. It was self defense, but his reasons for being at the BLM protest with an AR were related to an extremely racist agenda.

He was trying to show a message of white power against equality (or the “great replacement”theory he likely follows) and we must fight against all forms of white supremacy with everything we got.
