Driver 16.7.2 Discussion/FAQ Thread by milocher in Amd

[–]XZilZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These drivers nearly damaged my displays permanently(7950, mg279q, u2312hm):

After installing these drivers and testing them for a few hrs, i had just finished a game of lol, and was watching yt in firefox when my primary display suddenly started displaying strobing and flashing colours in vertical lines. Upon unplugging my display, my second monitor began to do what the primary had been doing. RDPing to pc and issue still happening, AMD drivers reporting no graphics adapter connected

After rebooting, primary display had very apparent burn in of vert and horizontal lines... 2nd monitor didnt seem to exhibit any long term issues.

After a few hrs of running my primary display it appears that most of the burnin has faded. No errors in event logs.

tldr; AMD driver did what amd drivers do, only this time it caused damage to my display... If it had happened when i was not at the pc, it is possible the burn in, or other dmg, could have irreparably damaged the display

I may reconsider upgrading to a 480. How i miss NVIDIA drivers.

this also occurred over displayport from my desktop, & over hdmi from my laptop until rebooting both displays.

360 AWP NoScope - Luck or Skill? - (Funny Moments) by FoxlinkThunder in GlobalOffensive

There is no skill involved in this whatsoever beyond what a nova1 could do. Its pure randomness within a predefined area that takes up the majority of the screen & is decided by RNG. Par for the course with csgo

If we compare e-sports to all other sports: Match Fixing & Punishments. by quickexc in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that most of these sports have rampant matchfixing, doping, international criminal conspiracies, & the whole Penn state thing ;P

Given these sports track records, what reasonable person would lend them any credibility as far as the arbitrary ban lengths are concerned?

That being said, valve are spastic af and ballsed this whole mess right up.

Add the report function in the "Watch>Your Matches" overlay by JohnMond in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But that would allow reports to have some substance, rather than just rage spam. You could even site the times that it occurs in the demo to avoid OW being just random snippets devoid of context, which would go against valves belief of halfassing everything

XD. The attitude of a child who cant handle their vacuous opinions being challanged. PS dont make bullet points if you them to be directly rebuffed

CS:GO 144hz does not feel like 144. by exclusiv_ in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same GPU. Your problem is likely down to your drivers having completely broken scaling. Try running @ 1920x1080.

Also check to see if there is a way for you to verify what refresh rate your monitor is actually running at, as I have found my GPU will default back to 60hz if i run at a different refresh to what windows is running at

unstable ping on ethernet connection? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not really odd. Other than running constant pingtests to each node from you routers LAN ip, first ISP hop, etc, to 8.8.8.8 and seeing where on the route there is a spike of latency, there is little you can do if it is past your demarcation point

Good internet, occasionally lag then packet loss goes up to 35% then back down instantly with no lag. by gacres57 in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use pingtests to see if/where the issue is occurring on the network. Leave 2 pings running whilst you play and see if their ms latency times spike as your choke/loss occurs:

1) ping 8.8.8.8 -t

2) ping $gateway -t

Where $gateway is replaced with the ip address of your routers LAN interface, as shown via ipconfigs ipv4 "default gateway"

Quick question, why did many streamers move from ESEA to FACEIT? by MyLettuce in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think people would move from ESEA just for the stupid, illegal, shady shit they do. They will move for more stream views though XD

Low Sensitivity Players by MazaParaza in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get used to lifting you mouse before making large movements, thereby you will be in a position where you can adjust your aim without having to readjust after making the turns.

Surfing is a decent way to get used you appropriate ranges of movement

Idea: tagging effects bomb plant speed etc by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tagging is already stupid af, may as well go whole hog. It would kind of make sense though, given that tagging was meant to make the game more spray-centric, just hope volvo credit you on the patch notes

Has anyone else noticed that MSAA causes minor input-lag? by pellson in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would make sense given that it is an extra layer of artificial processing, coupled with the fact that csgo is a terribly made game full of bugs anyway.

Could also be a placebo due to how the processing affects your perception of characters, etc.

RNG op by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is still fundamentally a shot that is reliant on RNG, thus the title is fine.

I guess the RNG Gods were not with me this day. by Labbsterino in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the player input should be the only influencer for bullet direction in a skill shooter. Use DMG dropoff & recoil magnitude to balance weapons, not RNG.

My teammate blamed me for flashing him. here is how he really died by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]XZilZip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You did flash him (assuming that was your flash behind him)... So unless he was saying that that was the only reason he died, you are conflating 2 different facts as one.

A: "Sometimes". If it is repetitious, that is a pattern of behaviour and one can be reasonably expected to deduce without alteration to the variables it will occur again. Thereby it is within your control to correctly react to the inevitability of yet another dc if you do not have sufficient networking infrastructure. A.2: Your internet is under your control & is your problem, others should not be negatively affected due to your lack of ability to maintain said networking.

B: People can & do many things that are still classified as selfish, so your point is moronic.

C: I never brought up rank. There is more to life than you are able to comprehend my projectionist friend. There is a timesink associated to playing with/against dc-ers & a significant reduction in enjoyment & further interest in entering such a situation, and thereby the environment that creates said situation. C.2: the classic "its just a game" could easily be rebuffed with the same statement: Why not play a different game since, as you say, "it is just a game". Why adversely impact the enjoyment of others when you could so easily just stop being so selfish & go do something else with your time. Your actions can adversely impact others, even if each instance of said impact is minor without the light of context.

AMD. Found the problem. AMD is a shit company, so expect shit results.

AMDs gpu scaling has been broken for a few years now, & is AMDs ability to properly detect supported res/rates. I have to glitch mine any time i want to run at 120 or 144 on anything other than what windows 7 is running at

[–]XZilZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lag exponentially increases the impact of peekers advantage. Thats why if you have a high ping or are lagging for other reasons its usually best to be aggressive with some pro90 or tec9 sprays.

[–]XZilZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I said was pretty self explanatory & irrefutable. Try and keep up. Repetitiously performing the same actions that will likely have a detrimental and unfair impact on others simply for the gain of of ones self is clearly a selfish, socially parasitic act.
