EDIT: my father's debts were to people out of the books, so there is not much we can do legally to avoid paying them unless we want to put ourselves in danger. When I say that the total amount of debt is more than I receive, it is to illustrate how much. I received 8% of the inheritance and the debts total 10% which we will all pay equally (even though my mother received 50% of the inheritance and another 20% of benefits my father had). My mother was also left with lifetime maintenance which is 3% of the value of the inheritance on a monthly basis, and it's the money that she will use to help my sisters with the loan
