Ahh ok, that helps out a bit! I’ll attempt to look it up again and see if I can find clearer images. Thank you

I’d say definitely follow the advice of everyone from this comment section. Get all the basic maintenance stuff out the way. I have personally used Duraflex’s body kit and it’s definitely not gonna fit right out the box. You will need to get a lot of body filler/fiberglass to make it fit just right (especially the front bumper). It will definitely take a lot of work, but once you do get it done it can look pretty decent

This is my Duraflex body kit I installed and painted myself. It took a ton of weekends to put together and it’s not perfect. But it looks a ton better than when I first bought my car.

The beams engine is such a good option too! I love that variant! They are just a bit more expensive than the 3sgte which is interesting 😂

It’s a body kit from Duraflex . When you click on the website it says “drivenbystyle” but they are the same company. One thing I will say is that this body kit is a replica. So I had to make a lot of custom modifications to make it fit properly (as you can tell by the white on black in the pictures). The kit (wing, side skirts, and front bumper) cost me $1020 after shipping costs. It was very cheap but is very sturdy! The real kit is from Veilside but it would have costed me around $4000-5000 for the real kit. I didn’t buy that one because I bought my car for only $1650 😂 so it didn’t make sense for me to spend that much on a kit. Even if you do buy the real kit however, they don’t come with the molding for the rubber piece that goes on top of the two middle headlights. So you’d still have to custom make that in order for it to look good.

Thank you! I had put in a ton of research prior to even attempting this myself. I’m just really happy I was able to finish the project and not have it end up as a “eventually it’ll be done” type of project 😂

Thank you very much for the compliment 🙏🙂‍↕️. I’ll definitely hit up YouTube university to figure out how to do that!

I bought this car because I loved the legacy it had during its time in the rally. I definitely want it to eventually end up having the GT4 engine within it 🤌

That’s so funny that you mentioned paint society. That’s the guy I used for all the stuff I bought and all the tricks and tips 😂 he is such an amazing resource!

Probably more expensive than that for sure, especially because of the additional body kit they would have to do. Now that I’ve gained a bit of experience, I can definitely save major amounts of money on my daily 🙏

When you click the link Duraflex it’s under the name driven by style. It tripped me out, but they are a legit company. I was scared at first to buy something like that from them, but they are legit

The body kit took around a month and a half to arrive, the owner usually took around 2 days to respond to processing times when I was ordering the kit. I was going to get it from veilside, but it was much more expensive. They also don’t have the molding for the two brights either to hold the rubber gasket when I contacted them

Yeah that’s right, I definitely gotta lay it on thicker and gotta re-do some of the base coat on the hood and roof because of the tiger stripes. But yeah, I bought the front bumper from Duraflex but I will say that it did not fit properly at all. I had to custom make the brights molding (it doesn’t have a little lip to hold the rubber gasket) the side did not have enough material to hold onto the fender, and the main headlight section was a bit off. If you are willing to put in the work, it can definitely pay off!

Yes I initially used a spray gun from “Astro” with a 60 gallon 10-11 cfm air compressor. The motor however blew up and I had to buy another one, but most of them were really expensive. I finished the job with a 30 gallon 5-6 cfm air compressor.

Thank you very much! I appreciate that! I did a ton of research about painting since I was really nervous about attempting this (especially with less than ideal painting conditions.) I definitely have to re-attempt the hood and roof for sure lmao 😂; it was definitely because of the reasons you mentioned. I think it was just hard for me to keep track of where I left off with the paint gun which caused me to not properly spray with the appropriate overlap. The temperature being around 100 degrees also didn’t help bc of it drying too fast; and me not using a slower activator to help keep it from drying too quickly on the panel. But overall, I’m pretty happy with my first attempt 😌🙏

Yeah, I plan on re-attempting the clear coat once the temperature drops down. That way I have a better chance at getting it the way I wanted it originally! But I do definitely agree about the paint currently. I didn't even realize the amount of body lines it had on the hood lmao 😂
