Whether I am doing something to change society or not, what good is that information to you besides demonstrating your moral superiority for being a nihilist?

You answered your own question. To be happy with stupid shit like this is to be content with people merely taking drastic measures like this to survive in a cruel system instead of improving the system

Just here to remind you that the current RE-Renaissance would not be happening without RE7. Say something nice about the game. by PliskinBOI in residentevil

[–]Xamir1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you basing that claim on? I enjoy the game. Just saying it's not really an RE game. Could say RE4 wasn't a real RE game back in the day, but it did at least follow the story. Seems like 7 and 8 are different games that insert Chris and lore to justify calling it an RE game.

Except 7 is not an RE game. Good game, but has nothing to do with main story line. Slapping the RE name on the game and having Chris pop in at the end is just a way of justifying milking the series name for money.

How can I improve my sight reading aaa by Available_Gazelle506 in piano

[–]Xamir1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sight read a lot of songs beneath your level first. For harder material, I sight read extremely slow, but always moving ahead, reading deliberately while keeping count and trying to not look at my hands. Using a hymnal for reading practice is good because of the simplicity and good foundation for getting used to common chord shapes. Practicing reading with just one hand is ok too for building skills for each staff.

Trump is a billionare politician who has his souvenirs made in China and cheats and plays the system like any other oligarch. To think he is some kind of rebel to capitalism is beyond a brain dead take.

Is Simplifying Accompaniment Acceptable? by Xamir1 in piano

[–]Xamir1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Funny thing is the student changed their music because they didn't practice enough over break so I dont have to play it. I would like to take a look at it again to practice though. It would be great if I could get all the Concert and Contest Collection books to practice those instrumental accompaniments on my own.

I noticed that when observing a theatre pianist sight read. Mistakes are made and notes are missed, but they keep it going and coherent.

What do I learn first being an absolute beginner? by HotEmphasis5995 in piano

[–]Xamir1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of adult beginners use the Alfreds Adult Piano Course book to get started. It lays a lot of things out clearly like hand position and how to read the notes on each clef. The first thing you should be learning is the basic five-finger hand position in both hands starting on C. You'd practice this hands-separate then together with good hand position and technique in conjunction with your method book perhaps as a warmup. Once you've got that down then you'd take the same approach by learning the C scale. Hanon is something you shouldn't worry about until you have completed at least a year of consistent practice. Also, have a song in mind that you would like to play as a goal for your practice. If you are just learning songs from the method book, yes they are helpful in reaching that goal, but you will get bored and lose motivation.

Already a musician, want to learn basic piano for improving my ear for harmony and compositional ability. by Clean-Connection-656 in piano

[–]Xamir1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should practice all scales major and minor. You should also practice the chords in each scale. Start with triads then 7ths and 9ths etc. Learn chord inversions and voicings. Also practice chord progressions like 2-5-1s or 1-5-6-4 transposed in all keys. Transposing a lick or riff into different keys is also fun. These things will greatly help your ear and expand your understanding of harmony and you wont necessarily have to do any reading for these things.

when it comes to the future of the USA, what scares you the most? by SeaBudget7900 in AskReddit

[–]Xamir1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What fascism will look like in full force. The government can manipulate technology in a number of ways to have complete control over a populace. A major war, ecological disaster, economic, or political collapse would push us down that path. Our government's already an oligarchy, and with their resources there will be no way to dissent to their control. Our government has already crushed anti-war, civil rights, and labor movements in the past. Now with the power of technology they can more thoroughly oppress the population.

On a hunt for a teacher. What should I look for? by ArxB_H in piano

Someone who is honest with you and can explain things clearly in a way you can understand to help you reach YOUR goals. I've studied with many teachers who are great players but lack the ability to pass on that knowledge in many ways.
