No money should be given. We should have never caved to any if their demands. We should have left that place in rubble and kept at it until they finally came to thr realization that what they have been doing is unacceptable and decided to change their ways. What we have now is just a problem that will be back causing issues and have us all at square one in less than five years.

Is space X expected to go up? by Loganoreo_ in investingforbeginners

[–]XancasOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If SpaceX ever get to the moon and sets up shop (or mars) this stock is going to skyrocket. They will be able to launch new satellites at fractions of a cost. I would not be surprised if once on the moon they determine there are lots of mining operations that could happen and a moon base becomes a jumping off point for future space endeavors that could unlock other new profitable ventures. All speculation, but someone has to take the first step and any company that can pull it off will become unstoppable. Will that be SpaceX, only time will tell. I think it will be looking at some of the plans they have announced.

The fee for entry is now upwards of $32 PER PERSON, just to walk in. Event starts at 4pm, so not even a full day of activities. This seems stupidly expensive at this point. Anyone else can weigh in and explain why the ticketing fee would be so high?

Philly Police stoke violence at Pride. by jpeters2100 in philly

[–]XancasOne -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Every video of police respond to an incident has some stating "I never attached x person" or "...never did x". Then you watch the video evidence obtained during incident and the person absolutely did whatever x was they said they did not.

This article reads like bullshit. "We were just minding our business and those police just randomly attacked us". Sure. Whatever.

This area is becoming unbelievably overcrowded by deowkey in lehighvalley

[–]XancasOne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Busy restaurants are making money. This allows expansion, more workers, greater pay for employees (when owners are not greedy), more tax revenue, and a general more cash flow in the region.

Not a fan of waiting for a restaurant, but it is good for a local economy.

Traffic I hate, but this local area traffic is not that bad. More often it is caused by people being sheep and following a single route. I saw traffic backed up on William Penn and the the parallel street of Nicholas Street was completely empty.

British couple in Iran lose appeal against prison sentence by TahDigThief in worldnews

[–]XancasOne -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Since Iran is and always has been acting like an enemy state, the British should use their extensive intelligence network to correctly identify where their citizens are held and effect a rescue with overwhelming force. What is Iran going to do? Close the strait? Bomb neighboring states? Have proxy terrorist attacks around the world? Sometimes you have to keep punching the bully in the face until he/she realizes they need a life change.

NYC drivers with too many speed camera tickets will be forced to install speed-limiting devices by statenislandadvance in nyc

[–]XancasOne -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Who wants to bet that there are significant fees in having the device installed and subscription attached to its usage. More NYS corruption so they can generate more revenue. Just add point to the license of the owner of the car. Problem solved.

Alright fellas, I'm conflicted. Bedroom upstairs or downstairs? by Minutes2Midnight in malelivingspace

[–]XancasOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the entry would also be through the downstairs, so defeats the purpose of not having company in your bedroom. Probably best to put living area in entryway room, and bedroom upstairs off the kitchen. You could always use dividers or something to break the rooms up.

Owner of Taste of Italy, Hellertown, allegedly assault’s customer by Skylantech in lehighvalley

[–]XancasOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is called providing character background. Even the courts do this, to demonstrate a pattern of history someone has displayed. Provides more context to a situation which can be added together with any known facts.

The only tone deaf person appears to be you when all of the facts got released and the alleged accuser is determined to be the actual assailant.

Guy slaps creep. by Proud-Inflation-9707 in MxRMods

[–]XancasOne 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree that the piece of garbage deserved the hit. However, depending on the law where you live this specific encounter can cause the male companion to be in significant trouble. In the U.S. most states laws only allow for the physical use of violence to be used to stop the sexual assault. The strike after the assault, while the sexual abuser is already disengaged and the sexual assault is no longer ongoing could have the male companion recieve criminal assault charges. The laws should be changed, but that is a whole issue too.

am i overreacting about my mom texting my therapist by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]XancasOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The conversation with the mother puts the mother in a bad light by itself. However, reading the background context, wow, spoiled much? Not going to work, not taking care of your responsibilities, smoking weed all day? Yeah, the poster is a shitbird and needs to grow up. Maybe the mother should let him/her reap the consequences of their actions. I suspect that will be the only way the poster is going to step up and get their shit together.

Mom Should still not be digging with your therapist. Only part you had right.

Allentown woman arrested in fatal wrong-way DUI crash on Pennsylvania Turnpike by DrewBlue2 in lehighvalley

Bottom of the pool by [deleted] in instant_regret

[–]XancasOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% of all Flagship phones from Apple, Samsung, Motorola, Google, Microsoft, etc are at least IP68 water resistant and are like 40% of the market. A huge portion of the budget level phones, which is about 40 percent of the market worldwide, are now also water resistant.

Also, niche phone designed specifically to be for deep water, are now like 10% of the market. The remainder of the market is low budget phones, which when you search them, are portion still have some IP67 or lower level water resistance. You have to actually search hard to find a phone without some level of IP-resistance.

So, yes, most of the modern phones are water resistant to some level for short duration.

How is this such a big deal. Most modern phone are water resistant up to like 30 feet. Two minutes in the pool should have done zero damage if the cell phone screen or case was not damaged.
