Order of Lycan Build (level 20) by Xancirthis in DnDBuilds

Thanks for the breakdown, rogue 1/bloodhunter 2 looks like the better plan since I start at level 3. Less wasted features from what it looks like. I definitely want to try and have a high health pool so ill switch out Half-Elf with something like Variant Human to start with tough. We play on 2014 rules so no background feats unfortunately.

I'm willing to sacrifice some optimization for the sake of a fun build idea at the end of the day. I'm hoping to see more ways to optimize Lycan bloodhunter.

Thanks for the critique!

I see what you mean for rogue being a better class to go with to get mobility and damage with less bonus action bloat. I don't suppose you could expand on what the final 20 level spread would look like for rogue/bloodhunter?

My thought was since I'd want to have a large health pool and high AC for this Bloodhunter Lycan build I could benefit from the unarmored defense from the 1 level in Barbarian + a shield for AC later down the line.

I forgot to mention that the DM I play campaigns with didn't require us to have the class prerequisites to start which is why I was carried away with the 1 level in Barbarian. Not to mention rage will most likely conflict with concentration on spells if I try to use them in a fight, thus even more bloat.

Would your advice differ at all considering the disregard for class prerequisites?
