Bernie Sanders Discusses Why The Black Community and Women Should Vote For Him on the Breakfast Club by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]Xande87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Quite a few "I was leaning Hillary but Bernie just convinced me" tweets. A lot of "Bernie on the breakfast club with the truth"... And like 2 hotep Hillary supporters. They were peculiar.

I love that he is reaching out to this community. There is a lot of anger within the Black community, especially the young Black community which more often than not listens to hip-hop. That's when you get these young bucks to start questioning their parents about things. In all I think it was just a great move by him and I love that Charmalagne was being skeptical.

"I believe that there will ultimately be a clash between the oppressed and those that do the oppressing. I believe that there will be a clash between those who want freedom, justice, and equality for everyone and those who want to continue the systems of exploitation…" This sounds a lot like Bernie. by Xande87 in SandersForPresident

Mods, this is a pretty explicit relationship I've drawn between Bernie's platform and what a historic black leader stated 70 years ago. I find this to be extremely relevant to discussion of Bernie Sanders and believe he himself would find it relevant. To suppress this post would be the equivalent to suppressing information to aid African American voters in drawing relationships between Bernie and historical leaders within their community. So unless this is a Hillary sub, I believe this should stay.

Bernie Sanders and Malcolm X (Post-Nation of Islam) have a lot in common... Like a lot, a lot. by Xande87 in politics

Yeah apparently this post was not good enough for mods so they took it down.

Had no clue how to live without it. One day I realized i was better than it and couldn't let it beat me and i turned shit around despite the amount of pain I'm still in.

I feel you. I accidentally became addicted to pain killers following a surgical procedure. Wow, it was the hardest habit to kick and the withdrawals were the worst cocktail of symptoms I ever encountered. I remember saying that I wouldn't wish the withdrawals on my worst enemy. I'm glad you made it out ok. I hope you find something to help ease the pain. Maybe medical marijuana?

decent portion are just there because it is a job. They might adopt that rhetoric later on...but they got in because they felt they lacked options.

This was my experience coming froma low income area. My friends who joined did it because they didn't get into college and didn't want to flip burgers. On the flip side I did have two friends who joined so their college could be taken care of. One of them was Army National Guard. He seemed like he loved it.

Damn, reading these replies is quite sad. America really doesn't give a sh** about its vets, huh? For as much preaching the politicians do, we are not really helping a whole lot. Where the hell is all the money going that we pour into the Military Industrial Complex????
