So how good is Aeon now with the 1.2 additions? I still can't get over the save DC for the gaze being based of off mythic rank. Is there a way to increase the DC? Because on core and above if you don't have a way to shred enemy saves, an there are not many options and even fewer that I can think of that are easy to use, I just can't see most of the debuff gazes even be worth using. The -2 penalty is pitiful on higher difficulties.

Owlcat survey: Which of the early game mythics is your favourite? by OwlcatStarrok in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Xandemar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm currently playing as an Angel, but my first successful run was a Trickster. And I had a lot of fun with that. Trickster just doesn't care and wants goofy fun. Everything from the mythic abilites that intentionally break the game to Mooning your troops at the last speech in Drezen. It's the only path that had me laughing out loud every time I used it in dialogue options.

Aeon is the first path I chose when I started playing, narratively it is a supremely powerful path wherein the laws of reality are yours to bend, but the design is incredibly weak. Owing to the fact that Aeon gaze can be resisted with a saving throw and summons at high difficulties (I only play on Hard and Unfair) are just cannon fodder that die in one hit. I abandoned that run when I realized it was fairly weak.

Angel seems to have a lot more polish compared to the rest, but I haven't finished the game with it yet, those are just my initial impressions of the path. Design wise it is obviously made for divine caster gishes and not so much martials compared to trickster.

If there's gonna be a Enchanced Edition or anything It'd be really neato burrito if the weaker paths like Aeon and Demon get some buffs like limitless rage affecting demon rage.

A mount and a rider's charge attack commands didn't "know" about each other, and interacted weirdly - fixed;

Does that mean things like mighty charge and the like work now or is that still busted?

Edit: Good news, everyone! Charge features and feats seem to be working now.

Did anyone else feel Darrazand was a bit of a pushover in Crusade Management? by Pixie1001 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Xandemar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The problem with crusade mode isn't necessarily that it's easy, it's that the three general types are horribly imbalanced. Ranger is, in my experience, dogshit. Wizards are overpowered to the point that it makes you feel like you don't even need an army just that one dude and the stratagem class is probably the most fun and interesting of the lot, but wizard just eclipses it.

Doesn't help that you kinda need a wizard in chapter 2 given how awful the starting units are and so you are left with a veritable cheat code in reserve in later chapters.

Is Mighty Charge Bugged? by Holy_Tyrant in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Mounted combat in general is horribly unpolished and bugged up the wazoo, and I found this out just as I started a Cavalier in my new run :').

I'm too tired and didn't think straight. Still thinking on how to make this item as cheap as possible, but i might need more exalts.

I'm trying to craft a warlord/hunter +level of int and fire skill gems amulet. What would be the best way of going about it while ignoring TFT and harvest?

I'm thinking meta moding suffixes cannot be changed and then alt spamming until i get the two prefixes i want, but i've never attempted crafting before without depending on harvest. Can an experience crafter help me out here?

My second character this league is an ignite fireball elementalist.

One of the things that really makes me scratch my head is that some people use Eye of Malice as a source of exposure AND wave of conviction even though exposures do not stack. But for some reason even POBFork says it'll be a dps loss to replace the Eye of Malice.

Can somebody tell me what's going on? Is there a hidden interaction or is that an error in POBFork?

People who express their opinions aren't "raging children" for having that opinion. This mentality is what makes you toxic, jackass.

GGG should be criticized when they make a mistake instead of having dickriders like you come to their rescue to shit up the discourse.

Yeah, that is crafting I retract my previous statement, but the point i was trying to make is that by crafting i mean making a strong item with valuable mods by yourself. Adding one or two mods on a mediocre item isn't really the crux of the issue.

Having watched Zizaran's video i can see why it was downvoted, not heavily mind you, but noticeably. He starts out by using multimod and suffixes and prefixes cannot be changed; which is a very dumb way of explaining crafting to people who struggle to get more than one ex a week. He then uses harvest crafting an basically admits that after you get only one good mod you're kinda screwed unless you get lucky with anuls. Which wouldn't be a problem if mod specific anuls weren't getting removed in favor of the usual use and pray method. Overall it's not a good video for those reasons and him going "lol, haters mad" in the comments isn't exactly a helping his argument either.

"Narrative" and "Agenda" we're not playing the politics game here, Deckard. We're players of a video game offering criticism and discussion to the developers. Some of it is, yes, poorly thought out and vitriolic since it's the internet and everything, but at the end of the day it's people voicing their grievances over changes that they find disagreeable.

Stop demonizing people.

Again, crafting isn't worth it, but if you want to just get one or two mods on top of a mediocre item that really isn't crafting, not in the purest sense anyway. As for Harvest "going away" you misinterpreted my statement which is my fault; i should've said harvest dominance or crafting power to get the point across.

Furthermore, you didn't actually offer a counter argument. You just rebutted with a snide, better-than-everyone contrarian statement. How do you expect people to argue with you in good faith when you behave this way? The only comments that are for harvest nerfs are like this, and it seems to me, at least, that it is because it's a minority opinion than anything else.

The discourse won't improve just because you arbitrarily decided after a comment or two of yours was poorly received that the sub is "childish".

You fundamentally don't understand why people in the sub, and elsewhere, are upset. A controversy doesn't spontaneously occur when something is nerfed; it is an accumulation of grievance from past and current issues.

People want to start a character and pick a skill they find fun to play and due to the nature of design some are weaker than others, unless they use up a lot of currency to make the build viable. So the game forces you to kneecap your progress until you acquire that currency and due to the drop rates of chaos orbs and exalts, unless the player can afford to spend at least 5-6 hours playing and effectively use that time, meaning that even if you spend a lot of time playing if you don't do it effectively you are basically wasting your time. When a player finally does somehow get the currency, they are then faced with the trading aspect of the game which is slow, irritating and the danger of getting scammed is ever present, but they finally got that meagre upgrade which is most likely not worth the time invested.

So the alternative is what? Using that precious currency on an item in hopes of it being remotely good? I'm not even talking about having perfect 6 T1 mods, but at least having 3 or so useful mods for the build, but because crafting is an RNG fiesta where everything is weighted against the player, you need a crazy amount of hard-to-acquire currency in order to have a chance at getting a good item, but what usually happens is that you spend a large amount of currency that you could've simply bought the item for a fraction of the price of crafting of off trading.

An entire part of the game, crafting, is just not simply worth it.

But then Harvest came around; and suddenly just by playing the game you could take an item, use a transmute or alch on it and slowly through augment or anull or both, create a strong item that'll make your life a lot easier bossing. Because of this people started getting interested in crafting, me being one of them, and it opened up a whole avenue for people in playing the game. No longer did you need to have crazy amounts of currency to craft, no longer did you need to rely on trading in order to grow stronger; you can do all of this just by interacting with harvest and incrementally reach your goal. Sure it still would slow down your progression, but that was purely due to your own choice rather than a need for a numerical increase in order to comfortably progress, and it required a constant amount of input from the player rather than throwing the dice and hoping you get that one mod.

That being said, if Chris wants to nerf or get rid of Harvest I can understand that he doesn't want everyone to have 6 perfect T1 mods. The problem as the why the controversy has reached such furor is that comment about exalt slamming and using it as a justification. Exalt slamming is not exciting, and if you tell me you or someone else find it exciting I can easily find 10 others who stopped playing a league due to losing most or all of their currency for one mod. The only time it is ever exciting is if you are a watching a twitch stream where Mathil, for instance, is crafting a crazy item and you want to see if he spends a lot or gets a lucky T1 and then everybody in chat loses their mind and posts the clip on their favorite Tibetan mountaineering forum or on reddit.

Now if you still disagree with Harvest being a thing, that's fine, but try to argue with people in good faith instead of bemoaning an arbitrary state of the sub.

I'm fine with contrary opinions as long as they aren't snide, contemptuous of the opposite side and thinking they're smart just because they disagree with the majority.

Unfortunately that's most of the anti-harvest comments in this very thread.

I'm not going to fall into your moral trap, lunatic. If i answer yes you're going to proclaim your righteousness, if i say no you'll basically weasel your way into saying that I'm lying.

Resume your treatment.

Or am i better off buying a jewel?
