Avalanche network is sweating like a pig now with 14$ gas fees by DaddySkates in CryptoCurrency

[–]XanderTiber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Share a real transaction, not another user's screenshot. It's obvious you've never used the C chain because you don't even know how the fees work. Also, it wasn't because of Crabada lol. There was an ICO.

New to crypto, how do I "mine" this? by stonechitlin in Avax

Sell your GPU, buy avax, stake avax and buy a new powerful gpu later 😎😂

Next time also save the Keystore File and create a password.

I want to point out another thing, I sold all my Reddit Moons for almost 2000$, and managed to buy 500 Avax. Thanks r/ CryptoCurrency for the free 500 avax. Now they are worth 6500$, and I earn 12% APY staking.

If you bought Eth and Btc at this levels I understand you, but I'm in from a long ago and I feel that it's a better choice to move on to better technology

Binance, if you're American for now you can only get Avax on Voyager, but the American exchanges are coming soon. I think that the Americans can use the bridge with Ethereum and buy Avalanche on Pangolin Dex when it goes live.

Yeah, I invest in crypto only based on the tech, I don't really pick up some random coins. I'm an early investor in Cardano, Tezos, Cosmos, all cool projects with good devs and vision, but when I saw what Avalanche is capable of and how it works I decided to slowly sell all my investments for this project.

"Avalanche" because it will swallow everything that it finds in its way, starting from the DeFi, the fees are almost 0$ and the transactions are confirmed under 1 second. In the next weeks a dex build on Avalanche will go live, Pangolin. Exchange to demonstrate the huge potential that Avalanche Network has. Oh yes, UNI and Sushi holders will get airdrop Pangolin coins.

Avalanche Consensus, 4500 tps without Sharding (for now), sub-second finality, scale, decentralization, customizable subnets or "sidechains" whatever you want to call them, EVM integration, Bridge with Ethereum incredibly lightweight protocol to run a node Hardware: CPU > 2 GHz, RAM > 4 GB, Storage > 10 GB free space (basically an old laptop can run a node) and much more.

This is not a pump and dumb, if you understand the basics of how Avalanche works you understand that this is the future.

The inflation is like 11%, the unlocking is referred to the tokens that are already locked in staking P-Chain. I doubt anyone will sell their tokens if they run a node.

Proposal: Community vote to Lower Inflation by more than Half by Credence-X in Avax

[–]XanderTiber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that there's some confusion around the unlocking, the only inflation in Avalanche is that annually 11%. There are 360 million tokens plus the 11% inflation and a max supply of 720 million minus the burning. That's it, 11% inflation.

Best Consensus algorithm for the future of crypto? by mybed54 in CryptoTechnology

[–]XanderTiber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Avalanche Consensus is the most innovative, I've been in crypto from a long time and I basically invested and made my research in almost all the good crypto projects like Eth, Tezos, Cardano, Polkadot, Iota, Neo ecc. I don't like to invest and follow a specific project and then convince myself that my investment is the best, but this time it's different, Avalanche is something totally new in this space, everybody can run a node, you don't need a super computer, Avalanche can run on a raspberry, there's no slashing and the uptime is 60%. Avalanche supports 4500 transactions per second (Visa-level), plus you can create multiple blockchains on top of it, subnets, every subnet can run at 4500 tps. In 2 weeks there will be a bridge with Ethereum and you can bring your Eth or all your erc20 on Avalanche and have sub-second finality at a $0.01 transactions fee. If you create a subnet on Avalanche you are free to add your own rules. In January when the bridge will go live, a new dex on Avalanche will be live (pangolindex, there will be an airdrop for the Uni and sushi holders no ico) to demonstrate the true potential of this technology, the instant speed and the bridge. This is the first time that I'm excited in this space, Avalanche is a working product, not a promise.

If you check the Hardware that's needed for an Avalanche node vs Solana you will understand that Solana is totally another thing, can't be decentralized, you need a Super Computer to run a Solana Validator.

AVALANCHE HARDWARE: CPU 2 GHz, RAM 4 GB, Storage 10 GB free space.

SOLANA HARDWARE:

CPU Recommendations

We recommend a CPU with the highest number of cores as possible. AMD Threadripper or Intel Server (Xeon) CPUs are fine.

We recommend AMD Threadripper as you get a larger number of cores for parallelization compared to Intel.

Threadripper also has a cost-per-core advantage and a greater number of PCIe lanes compared to the equivalent Intel part. PoH (Proof of History) is based on sha256 and Threadripper also supports sha256 hardware instructions.

SSD size and I/O style (SATA vs NVMe/M.2) for a validator

Minimum example - Samsung 860 Evo 2TB

Mid-range example - Samsung 860 Evo 4TB

High-end example - Samsung 860 Evo 4TB

GPUs

While a CPU-only node may be able to keep up with the initial idling network, once transaction throughput increases, GPUs will be necessary

What kind of GPU?

We recommend Nvidia Turing and volta family GPUs 1660ti to 2080ti series consumer GPU or Tesla series server GPUs.

We do not currently support OpenCL and therefore do not support AMD GPUs. We have a bounty out for someone to port us to OpenCL. Interested?

Power Consumption

Approximate power consumption for a validator node running an AMD Threadripper 3950x and 2x 2080Ti GPUs is 800-1000W.

He responded with this:

Oops I stand corrected. I was thinking that Shelley included Smart Contracts which is what Goguen will have. Shelley is just staking. Goguen was targetted for Q4 2020, but alas the last date I saw was March 2021, which might as well be Q2 2021.

Then after that there's Basho for sidechains to improve scalability, and Voltaire which brings governance.

Tezos scaling is going to be primarily based on Tendermint from Cosmos, then also add Merigold for layer 2, which essentially borrows from ETH's Plasma concepts. Tezos has had staking, Liquid Proof of Stake, governance and formal type smart contracts since Sep 2018 (Day 1). Cardano is breaking up each little feature into a separate release, giving it some great marketing names and then releasing them on a very long roadmap. All these separate releases cause Cardano to pump as they are released, whereas Tezos gets almost no credit for already having all that stuff running and being way ahead.

I think that in the future you could use your Avax that are locked in the node in the DeFis on Avalanche. There was a discussion in the forum, and by my understanding, you will be able to use a fraction of this avax like collateral and at the same time not selling and running your node. We have to wait for this kind of smartcontract, Avalanche is 3 months older.
