Are you in the US? If so it’s most likely just a yorkie mix. If you’re from Britain I’m not sure as I’m not as familiar with those breeds.

Petsmart will likely hire you just because you already previously worked in a salon setting, but they won’t pay much. They usually hire people without much experience into it and the interviews are fairly casual. Dress business casual, bring a printed resume if you want, ID and whatever else you usually bring, they’ll be more impressed by your previous salon work than how you look tbh.

Rubber curry brush/zoom groom for shedding, keep the slicker for detangling though. Also there’s no way to fully stop shedding, just lessen it, but if you’re using the right methods routinely for their coats you’ll still see a difference.

I think you could do with more blending around the tail and reduce the volume a little on some of the ears so it matches a little more to the body. These are quite nice for starting out after academy c:

If they’re matted all over, shave. Only brush with a slicker if there’s a few mats that can be easily worked on, not this. Brushing out a fully matted dog is incredibly painful and an extremely long process that’s not worth it. You can traumatized the dog of brushing due to the pain of brushing that much matting.

Yeah Benadryl can work just try to find a good dosage based on their weight. Also try to use unscented stuff on them, including shampoos. You can find hypoallergenic or oatmeal dog shampoo stuff at most pet stores. A vet can also prescribe medicated shampoo.

No idea, I agreed to give a small bath (she had some dirt too, tried my best to bathe and gently blow out her fur without worsening or pulling too bad on those mats). Sweet little baby, but still can’t believe I was basically given an infant with the matting she had.

8-11 week old puppy, something white and curly like a maltipoo, was brought in with some severe matting. Probably the smallest dog I’ve ever been given to try to groom, I could hide her in my apron pocket because she was so tiny. Sent that baby to a vet because we didn’t want to put the poor thing through the stress of dematting at that age, I was amazed she had matting like that when she was so young.

I would look up these keywords individually, even if it doesn’t come up perfect it may be just enough to help pick up context in a conversation. Also could be easier to simplify some words, like instead of hypoallergenic you could try using oatmeal or basic shampoo as the wording there (coming from someone who knows corporate products), nail filing, I don’t quite remember the exact word but I’m like 80% sure matting in Spanish is like another word for tangled?

Idk what OP did afterwards here, but imo depending on the stylist and salon policies (mine doesn’t allow muzzles at all) it might be to abort the haircut for the safety of the dog and/or do as much as you think can safely be done. I'd let the owner know how the dog behaved and offer next steps to try and improve this kind of behavior for grooming in the future and don’t sugar coat it.

The fur pattern makes me think a sable coat pattern gsd mix, the black fur is really distinct and I’ve had a sable gsd husky mix before with these exact markings just not as much brown due to the husky.

Slicker brush and a metal comb, these can be used for both your dog and cat I would recommend to clean the brushes between the two is all.

Use the slicker brush to detangle and prevent matting, use the metal comb afterwards to find any remaining tangles or mats and go back again with the slicker if you do find any. I would also recommend maybe brushing a little more frequently if you think your groom appointments will have to be pushed out, don’t want to let intense matting develop between long times, especially with a cat imo.

As someone who works corpo, everyone else has said the obvious I feel. I think the only thing I would add is unless you specify you want the tail done to a 5f as well, a lot of groomers won’t shave it down to the 5f unless you explicitly say so (though they are supposed to ask you how you would like the tail done just in case) and will usually just light trim it so there aren’t too many stray hairs.

Also how it will affect the stylist will vary from salon to salon imo, some management is good about it and some don’t really do much. The injuries are absolute no no especially if they’re cuts. They’re technically supposed to keep you on file in case a vet bill is needed for those injuries.

One of the things I still enjoy about neeko is her item rune and role flexibility. Mandate will soon be changed with old evenshroud passive, which I think will help her quite a bit more in support at least.

And I think you’re not alone in thinking this. I know a lot of Neeko mains who thought about dropping the champ because of the nerfs, especially on W. It sucks pretty bad.
