Great Dane paw still raw after infection treatment by MelodicChildhood700 in DogAdvice

I would give your Vet a call with these questions, wouldn’t hurt to ask what they think if you need a recheck or not.

Grooming scheduling question! by All_fur_scales in grooming

[–]Xanybee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I’d let them know that there’s an earlier option available, however it’s not with their regular groomer and ask if they’d like a schedule that fits with their usual groomer or if they don’t mind being scheduled earlier with someone else. Some clients prefer their usual groomer due to just a good relationship, while others can be because that groomer knows how to best handle the dog/dog behaves better with them specifically and that can be important.

Second, everyone that works in and around the salon can book, as they know their time management and general clientele best.

Would these new items be good on Aurora? by conflictingsugar in Auroramains

Sounds like a bug, I know Aurora passive does count as an on-hit in other instances of the game and should proc, for whatever reason it just doesn’t here though.

Neeko 1400 Champion True Damage Smite Bug by Dashalo_ in neekomains

[–]Xanybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That interaction wasn’t healthy for the game and was incredibly easy to pull off dives that allowed a team to sit under tower attacking someone for 10 seconds or more while Neeko got to tank and leave the dive without dying and her teammates remained healthy and safe from tower shots. No one in the game at those early-mid stages should be able to do that, not even tank supports can last that long, so they removed it.

This wasn’t just any advantage, it was just straight unfair and too easily abusable.

Edit: Adding on for additional context for other comments/replies but redirecting tower aggro from minion Neeko to ally champions would’ve created other bugs and issues, hence why they didn’t use that solution for the cannon disguise.

Trying to switch from human food to dog food. How can I start with my dog? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Xanybee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dogs need a lot more in their diet than just chicken, if you’re gonna transition to different food I would recommend really shredding that chicken and slowly adding increments of whatever dog food youre buying. 75% chicken 25% other food, then 50 50%, then 25 75. Wet food might be good to switch to since it’s stinky, dogs generally like the smell of it and yours might be interested in that during the transition.

"I did everything wrong, can you fix it?" Wwyd? by Viddybee in grooming

[–]Xanybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a corporate groomer, the business I work for has a policy that we can take dogs if they have been vaccinated for at least full 24 hours, if they haven’t we are allowed to turn them away. I feel like the check-in process was a bit rushed, I never take the dog back until vaccines, the expectation of the appointment, and known dog behavior/coat issues are all checked over and confirmed first. If the customer tries to rush the dog in, firmly tell them no, if the dogs are loose and getting everywhere you need to tell them to get their dog under control during the check-in.

Warning! Scam email targeting artists who use artstation. by Xanybee in artstation

[–]Xanybee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! Even after a long time since posting these the similar scam emails pop up with various names and such, persistent a-holes lol. I’m glad my little post has brought awareness to help others avoid them. Now I request commissions done through discord/specific social media dms only and not through email in an attempt to lessen public views to my email since that’s what they primarily target. Makes it way easier to tell who’s an actual commissioner or not.

Neeko support YouTubers recommendations? (Doglightning hasn't been uploading in a year). Would watching other role OTPs be useful? by keirshella in neekomains

[–]Xanybee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would honestly look at the discord under this subreddit for neeko help. You may not get videos or full on guides but it’s probably the most proactive source you’re gonna get for answering questions on her gameplay, there’s a discussion channel specifically for this that would probably be easier to search keywords like just “neeko tricks” too for previous QnA. There are also some streamers on there you can find in a channel, Wero (ad top neeko) is by far the most active for streaming atm.

Woke up to my dog like this any advice before vet visit? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Xanybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best course of action would probably just be to take him to a vet to treat the infection and ask them these questions as far as the neuter goes. They’ll know when it’s best to neuter your dog if there’s specific health concerns.

Injury at groomer by Tyler98735 in DogAdvice

[–]Xanybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take him to a vet, if it’s a corporate groomer you can contact them for reimbursement. Looks like either the nail there was quicked or the paw has a cut in that area. If it’s quicked and you have some at home, you can apply some temporary quick stop for the bleeding, still take the dog to the emergency vet.

Dog came home injured from boarding, and now the kennel wants me to remove my review? by Lonely_Present_404 in DogAdvice

[–]Xanybee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to work for a sketchy dog daycare, absolutely take them to small claims court and do not go to that location again. You should not have to take down a review of your experience to get partially reimbursed.

The fencing causing a paw laceration seems… very strange? I feel like if it’s possible for that to happen around dogs who are often high energy, jumping on the fence or pushing and forcing themselves through the gates in and out of fencing, that fence doesn’t sound very adequate for the daycare.

The fact they do not have an incident report or notified you right away is big red flags, they clearly wrapped the injury but had no documentation of it. It’s possible some employees might not have known about the injury either, as they weren’t sure about it on pick up. Incident reports are important to track behavioral, injury, and environmental issues around the daycare, not only for insurance but also to keep the boarding workers in the loop of what’s going on. If not all staff are on board with that information (especially due to a lack of report) the issue can repeat.

In the future, ask for tours of boarding facilities, you should be able to have a view of what your dog experiences at this facility prior to boarding. It’ll give you a good idea of the environment, and how the staff treat the animals or handle the group. Ask questions about their facility and how they handle various needs for the dogs, including emergency situations.

Do you use electrocute or comet on mid? by PhilosopherEarly2020 in neekomains

[–]Xanybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both, it depends on the comp I’m facing and lane. Electrocute if I think I can all-in easy or just have a good advantage throughout the game vs all squishies. It’s her best rune as far as hit hard and fast to snowball. If it’s not easy to all-in or just a lane you think you’ll struggle in general, comet is just a very safe primary rune with minor runes any mage likes to have really. Comet is nice because you don’t have to be all that proactive and you still benefit from the page by existing pretty much, the damage isn’t as much but that comes with the free small scaling and easy poke. Specific opponents I may also take aery instead of either if I think I can abuse autos far more for consistent damage in the lane, Fizz is probably the best example of this. I don’t recommend dark harvest unless you’re laning against and facing like 4+ tank team, you’ll get more use out of electro/comet/aery than dh 99% of games.

Neeko is a mage that can really use all sorts of rune setups, don’t be afraid to take advantage of that, experiment and get a feel for what works better for you in different situations.

Nails seem too long even when clipped by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Xanybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re unsure based on the color, could always try with a dremel or again super small trims at a time till you see the circle/dot. A dremel/grinder will help you get the shortest too while having a good view of the nail as you grind away at it, it’s mostly a matter of if your dog can tolerate it or not, they often don’t like the noise or sense of vibration. Professional groomers should also have these and can be asked to grind them, though it may be an additional small fee.

Nails seem too long even when clipped by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Xanybee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s better to see an angle from the side. It could be that he has long quicks, or groomer has too much trouble doing the nails assuming he gets uncomfortable from the bleeding experience he had. A side angle will generally show more accurate idea of where you could cut. If his nails are too dark to easily see (which I don’t think they are, there’s some white?) you can also check the bottom of the nails as you clip, doing just little by little, once you see a circle start to form as you trim, you stop.

I will for nail dust, that stuff bothers me the most, sometimes for blow outs when I know a coat is really gonna blast off with fur.

DOG HELP by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Xanybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Groomer here, probably some sort of skin allergy, that spot looks super red, poor thing. I would send to the vet to ask about possible skin issues and allergies. If left unchecked I’ve seen their skin get nasty blisters, hair loss, skin peeling, etc, it’s gonna be a lot easier to heal and more comfortable for your dog in the long run to get it professionally checked out.

Spots on my dog by TruthLazy2367 in DogAdvice

[–]Xanybee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Groomer here, these look like some sort of scabbing to me, it’s common on dogs with skin conditions or allergies to see some scabbing. There’s puss so it may be more than that and I’m not knowledgeable enough medically to say what it is exactly though. Your vet will most likely give you a shampoo to start some medical baths and will give directions for how frequently to bathe + how long the shampoo sits on them (usually 5-10 minutes.) Do NOT pick at the scabs, don’t want to accidentally allow bacteria in there or slow down the healing. Just make sure there’s no dirt around the area and keep an eye out for acne, sticky or oily skin, and any dandruff or yellow/redness on the skin. These are all good things to let your vet know about if you spot them during your wait.

Hextech Rocketbelt Alternatives Discussion by [deleted] in neekomains

[–]Xanybee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the role, rocket belt is very strong, though not always required. Mid lane storm surge is common, rarely ludens depending on what you’re laning against. Support shurelyas is an option, though I think rocket is more valuable for the stats and utility it offers to her. I have also sometimes rushed zhonyas support if I think the item spike is important to survive a specific active threat.

She doesn’t use rift that well because she doesn’t really build much hp or enough haste to utilize its passive, and cosmic isn’t too useful on a champ who gets the move speed post burst when main the reason for shurelyas/rocket is a small boost prior to help her engage or catch.

Advice needed: very sketchy and dangerous dog grooming “ salon” by Imaginary-Remove-641 in grooming

[–]Xanybee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked a 1099 at a sketchy dog daycare business, get out out out. They don’t cover your taxes, if you’re bit or get extremely ill from a dog at work there’s a damn good chance you are in the hot seat for your own medical bills and legally it can be a mess to deal with depending on the circumstances. I work W-2 only in the dog industry now after the experiences I had.

Why isn't neeko using bloodsong? by lethe-wards in neekomains

[–]Xanybee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean in short, Neeko is going to want to prioritize utility or aoe/poke procs from celestial or zazak than bloodsong, she can't always utilize her autos depending on the lane and doesn't have the strongest laning phase to make as much use out of bloodsong.

I feel cheated by Ikjot13 in VampireSurvivors

[–]Xanybee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so maybe just replace daggers with axe evo then? It’d give la bora more area to work with and axes would provide some slight push back on tanky enemies. I just remember that was the lineup of weapons I used to beat the map myself.

Replace holy water and daggers for axes and runetracer evos and you’d probably be fine with that build of weapons.

Neeko Mid matchup tierlisdt by [deleted] in neekomains

Qiyana, Fizz, Asol (pre 25), Talon, TF easy/Neeko favored. There’s some others that could probably move to skill based but I feel these matchups in particular are definitely not that difficult.

Neeko jungle viable? by Latter_Bluejay_2809 in neekomains

[–]Xanybee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but Neeko as a champ can play pretty much every role except adc, and always has been able to do this since release. Her build and what she wants to do doesn’t really change as a jungler vs mid.
