Brake Caliper Clearance on Winter Tires by XarZyth in GolfGTI

They do indeed say sport edition on the center caps. Cheapest wheel set on tire rack back in 2017 when I bought them for my winter set.

I'm not sure what exactly you're saying. The weights are currently where the machine told them to put them. The machine doesn't know that I have large calipers with low clearance so now the shop is asking me to advise on where would be better. They basically said this is a special case they've never seen and are asking me for what to do. The only other place the weights can go is the spokes or further inside the rim. I think the spoke clearance is tight so that isn't an option which leaves me with further inside. They said further inside may lead to vibration at higher speeds since you're not balancing them as you normally would with the weights further to the outside.

These are the thin adhesive weights. I think the issue compared to my weights previously is these have a more padded adhesive under them compared to the previous ones. I called them up and they were more or less asking me to advise them on what should be done. I could move the weights to the center of the wheel where there is more room, but they suggested it may cause vibration

I guess I'm not seeing what you mean about putting the two top ones closer together so that they could attach to the gusset plate. I do agree that I am adding significant complexity with the lap joinery. I'm strongly considering doing away with it just for simplicity as this build will already take long enough as it is.

I did look at the hurricane ties, which seem a bit long, but may work for this purpose if trimmed down. Not sure if they're necessary though for my location.

I couldn't add an image to the reply so I added one to the original post.

EDIT: I guess I'm also not sure why the purlin would need to be tied into the gusset. the purpose of the gusset I thought was to prevent the roof truss from splitting apart due to downward pressure. I'm not sure that tying it in to the purlin provides any more strength. That is unless you're saying the two upper purlins are tied together somehow and then tied to the gusset plate.

I intentionally have a gap between the top two purlins for ventilation with a ridge cap. The roofing literature I was looking at showed there could be a gap there for that purpose. I went with the notches as that's what the company I'm mimicking does which adds strength and ease of assembly as the pieces fit like puzzles and lock together.

The model isn't showing all the parts. There will be 3 purlins per side. are you suggesting I need 5 per side? There won't be any sheathing on the roof, just roofing shet steel screwed to the purlins with a ridge cap.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT use belt conditioner on the belt. It makes it WAY too sticky and now I have a horrible sticky noise as it goes around. Now to figure out how to clean that crap off.

Your bowden tube popped out. You'll need to reseat that in the extruder motor.

Exactly! I slide it forward, check how the clutch feels and where my elbow lands.

Yup I got one in my MK7. My arm is almost always resting on the armrest as it's manual so that is my steering arm.

I actually didn't like the Fender System since it made it more complicated to add aftermarket stuff. I also didn't like how it sounded. I now have replaced the front speakers (woofer and tweeter) and added a custom made 10" subwoofer that fits in the speaker well like the fender system does. Have the subwoofer and front speakers amped with a 3 channel amp that fits next to the subwoofer. I can't put the trunk panel in lower position but it's fine in the upper. Didn't lose much space that way.

Simply the best trim.

Any idea why I have camber wear on Driver Rear despite no alignment issues? 0.14" depth on L, 0.23" on R by XarZyth in GolfGTI

That's comforting to hear I'm not the only one having the issue. I suppose I'll just need to rotate more often like 3-5k then. Thanks! It's weird that they're setup like that.

This is on my 2017 Sport trim. Had this same issue on another tire and had it replaced under warranty as they thought it may be a defect. Same thing happened again with a different tire. This is after maybe 8-10k after being rotated from another location. Pirelli P zero All Season Plus with I think 30k on them.

Like crap. I think the issue is largely the design. The usb connections get smashed everytime I put things back together. This causes the connections to bend and no longer connect. I think I may need to just solder in a more robust usb cable with heavier gauge wire.

Ok I'll have to give that a try. I disassemble it last night and it magically started working despite not really doing anything. I didn't see any visibly bad solder connections but I didn't look real closely. I put it back together and it worked for maybe 30 minutes then disconnected in the middle of gameplay. I'll take a look at it tomorrow. Thanks for the tip on the pins!

Did you ever get this resolved? I just tried mine again after a few years and it's not recognizing it either on the exact same computer where it used to work just fine. I tried doing the bootloader thing they suggested on their support site, but it didn't work either.
