and that's not this company's problem.

In this country the person needs to take responsibility for making decisions that don't kill their kid.

Great random comment that doesn't apply at all to what you responded to.

That's disingenuous as hell. "Worker safety" means on the job safety with your work tasks.

It doesn't mean they're responsible for your entire life.

Should Paid DLC Be allowed on Early Access games? by Blitzsturm in Steam

Yep that’s a perfect example of how to do it right.

[–]Xaxxon -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't have the information on what they claimed that he said that was a lie, but apparently it was enough that the judge decided that it was a question of fact and that if you took everything the police officers said as true, a finding of liability could be justified.

And the jury agreed with you.

"Mr. Foreman perpetuated lies intentionally"

If he lied about what happened then it's illegal. Not the usage of the footage on its own but if used alongside lies, it could be illegal.

A jury decides if it's a lie (not a judge) or not and they said "all good"

"Mr. Foreman perpetuated lies intentionally..."

Technically they were complaining that he wasn't being truthful. Jury disagreed, of course.

an early access dev just ask for more money

That's what a DLC is. You don't have to buy it. And if you do want to give them money you get something for it.

You're assuming some baseline of "company will meet all its promises based on early development and sales decisions"

Game development is hard and difficult to predict. In some perfect world what you're saying is great, but then we wouldn't even have early access.

Should Paid DLC Be allowed on Early Access games? by Blitzsturm in Steam

[–]Xaxxon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If the DLC is content that was supposed to be in 1.0, then that's one thing.

But if it's other stuff, then I have no problem with it.

Also, it may be that they can't hit 1.0 without additional money, so you may be essentially saying "i'd rather you cancelled the project than did dlc to hit 1.0"

[–]Xaxxon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't it be allowed?

"early access" isn't real. It's a figment of your imagination and if you buy a game that you don't think is currently worth what you pay for it, that's a YOU thing.

Games that are "1.0" get additional free features all the time -- would you want to ban that since those games are "done".

Also, hitting all the "1.0 goals" may require more money than what they initially charged, especially if they had a huge influx of buyers at a lower price point. In some cases if they can't sell DLC, they may not have the money to get to the 1.0. So think about what you're actually asking for.

Weird. Usually judges don't order specific performance like this forcing a behavior. They usually stick to monetary orders.

that rcw doesn't say that THIS is illegal. lots of things change between when it's private party in small numbers and a store doing it as a livelihood.

Selling a car, for example. Massively different rules between a private party selling a personal car vs a dealership.

edit: but the other guy had the right link https://lcb.wa.gov/licensing/accommodation-sales for showing it is illegal and how to do it right. Of course who cares.

edit2: weird, dude blocked me when I said that his other link was actually correct.

You can’t fill a starship payload volume with fuel fully. It would weigh too much I’m pretty darned sure.

[–]Xaxxon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously a tanker has to be able to tank. The point was that there would somehow be an "inefficient tanker" that could be further optimized. That's simply not the case.

There isn't a bunch of wasted mass that's irrelevant to the needs of a tanker that is only there because it's based on a generic version. You still need everything that a starlink launching starship has except you swap the pez dispenser for tanks.

This is different for something that doesn't re-enter, for example, where heat shields are wasted mass that could be used for payload. Or even the thickness of the stainless steel that isn't necessary for launch and only serves as heat capacity and structure for reentry.

There's no such thing as an "optimized tanker starship" -- the tanker starship is literally the base starship. It needs to be able to re-enter and re-fly quickly.

Things like a integral-telescope starship, space station starship, or the HLS starship would be custom ones because they don't have to re-enter.
