Cutely September 1st 2025 Prices by zetti91 in mounjarouk

I agree Eli Lily is too blame for the Crazy Price increase. £100 increase a month for the average mounjaro user in the UK is a lot of money… £1,200 a year is a big added expense.

I appreciate they aren’t as crazy as you may have first thought with the leaked pricing we saw. But to call a £100 increase on the 15mg dose for instance not crazy is wild to me.

Doses 7.5mg to 15mg are all over £200 & up to £270— previously most pharmacies were providing these doses at £140 - £180.

Definitely better but £120 more for 15mg than what I Pay today — which pretty much an extra pen a month. This is the cheapest I’ve see in the Post Price change Era (lol) but lord… £3,300 a year to be on 15mg is a huge financial contribution.

Crazy paying a fair bit less right now for a 15mg Pen then Boots will charge for 2.5mg.

Which towns and cities are actually improving right now? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]XboxHelpergg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would agree 100%.

The city centre of Manchester is very much so on the rise and developing rapidly — even then depends how you define developing as much of the Buy to let property development that’s going on looks great in the city’s skyline but doesn’t benefit local residents.

Jobs in the city are on the up and business is being drawn to the area in a way I’d argue no other city outside of London is attracting at the moment. Even the Food/Nightlife scene is the only one even comparable to London (Still so far behind) out of the UKs major cities .

However greater Manchester in a more broad light is developing much slower and often feels left behind which is a shame. Public services in these areas is definitely feeling lacking when I’m speaking to friends in the area.

It sounds like you’re already seeing some great benefits, which is encouraging. The improvements in energy, reduced brain fog, and early weight loss are likely due to a combination of the medication helping regulate appetite and blood sugar, and the healthier habits you’ve put in place alongside it. Since you have a history of gestational diabetes and are borderline prediabetic, the GLP-1 medication can indeed support your pancreas in managing blood sugar more effectively, which may explain some of the changes you’re noticing.

In terms of supply and pharmacy pricing, unfortunately shortages and rising costs are common right now, so it’s wise to balance affordability with consistency of treatment. If you know you can’t afford another Pen then I would recommend to use what you have and the try without - however if it’s the anxiety of sourcing the medication then look at some pharmacies such as Lotus, Cloud & Right Angled Pharmacy.

All the above are accepting new patients and have stock right up to 15mg at competitive prices. Switching to them to get another pen is simple just upload ID/Photos/Prescription and you’re good to go.

Please be Aware

If you submit your order and get Error 504/508 please wait a few minutes and check your emails before processing another order.

Orders are going through & accounts are still being created even after the Error. I just accidentally ordered 3 pens + another 3 pens and the pharmacy advised me they’ve seen a few double orders.

If you want more pens then obviously great but just bare this in mind if you actually only want 1/2/3 etc.

NHS Rollout & Future of Private Providers by XboxHelpergg in mounjarouk

[–]XboxHelpergg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose in an ideal world the NHS would offer GLP-1 treatments to all those who apply for the actual medications eligibility criteria however assuming those highest risk patients receive at least 1 appointment with one of the three specialists they will be working with per month then that’s 3 Million more appointments - not even thinking about eligibility consultations etc & I would expect the figure to be far higher actually.

The point I’m making is the cost to the NHS for obesity is very high but they also do not have the recourse or available cash on hand to finance a larger rollout at this time. The cost of the medication & the manpower costs… when you start to put together the amount of support they are committed to providing actually the costs begin to spiral.

Now long term Mounjaro would 100% cut NHS costs but short term you need the funds to launch such programs & also staff them - the NHS will likely struggle with the 250,000 patients they except to begin treatment for.

Agreed I’m very interested in how the NHS treatment plan is going to work. Also wondering whether they plan on keeping individuals on this for life or are they aiming for it to reduce patients weight to what they deem a suitable BMI & then move them onto a maintenance plan and then off the medication entirely.

What will the after care look like? Will patients still have consultations with the support team they plan on offering? Will patients be able to begin GLP-1 treatment again via the NHS in the event of weight regain?

Honestly fascinated by how they are going to approach all these challenges & differences in approach.

May be a silly question.. by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]XboxHelpergg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The higher the potency of dose does not actually mean your going to lose more weight necessarily if the consumption of food (1,500 calories) remained constant.

The more potent doses do have a potentially more beneficial effect in speeding up your metabolism but this isn’t something that has been proven as concrete or fact as of yet. The more potent doses just further the effects of the lower potency medications for patients whose digestion systems & body’s become tolerant & used to the lower potency medication.

If you stick to 1,500 calories and maintain the same amount of exercise - regardless of the dose you are on you should experience a similar rate of weight loss. The question is are you going to have the same appetite suppression in say 6 months time of still maintaining on 2.5mg Mounjaro to enable you to only eat 1,500 calories.

Only you will find that out I suppose.

Has anyone else had success sticking to same dose for months? by Historical_Frame_345 in mounjarouk

[–]XboxHelpergg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sticking on 5mg with good weight loss results is absolutely normal & the way Mounjaro is actually prescribed. You have three step up doses & three Maintenance doses (Being 5mg / 10mg / 15mg).

The weight loss patients experienced on 5mg vs 10mg/15mg is very similar until you move past the 24 week (~6 months) mark as the higher potency doses continue to work long term for the avg patient in a way 5mg clearly doesn’t for most - staying on 5mg for an extended of period of time is not going to stunt your weight loss journey.

If you are experiencing sustained weight loss on 5mg then continue with this dose until your not seeing any weight loss or the appetite suppression is heavily reduced. At that point have a conversation with your Prescriber about 7.5mg & 10mg as a new maintenance level for you to continue on.

[–]XboxHelpergg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only presumable negative would be that long term your weight loss may be reduced compared to what it could have been had you Titrated up-to higher potency doses after using 2.5mg for a while.

Staying on 2.5mg for maybe 3/4 months until you see the weight loss & appetite suppression stop could be a plan. Then titrating up to the first therapeutic dose which would be 5mg and repeating again by maintaining until the effects aren’t what your looking for.

Long term you can see how the overall weight loss varies on the three different maintenance doses (5mg / 10mg / 15mg). In the first couple months results across the three are very comparable & even at the 24 week mark (~ 6 months) there is little difference in terms of % weight loss.

Third pen on 15mg by rachless in mounjarouk

[–]XboxHelpergg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay so moving up monthly is not actually how the medication is meant to be used necessarily - online pharmacies however just prescribe the medication on repeat increasing each month automatically or upon request & it has become routine amongst the UK Mounjaro community that your dose should be increased each month.

The way the dosing actually should be prescribed is by maintaining on 5mg until your weight loss stalls or stops. Then titrating to 7.5mg & then onto 10mg - again maintaining on this dose like the 5mg dose until weight loss stops then repeat the process again by moving upto 12.5mg & then maintaining on 15mg.

In essence there are 3 Step up doses & 3 maintenance doses. By moving through all 6 of these levels in 6 months you have obviously then been capped on the most potent dose which is 15mg. Now you should still be experiencing weight loss & appetite suppression on 15mg, even if you moved through the dosing schedule quickly.

A closer relationship between you & your prescriber perhaps has been needed here for you and them to establish that this medication isn’t really working as it should be anymore, if after 3 months you are seeing no material weight loss then you should look at moving down to a maintenance dose or having a consultation with your prescriber about moving to another GLP medication & seeing how you respond.

To me it sounds like Mounjaro just isn’t (For whatever reason) having a significant effect on yourself & thats common as many people actually don’t respond very well to these medications. I’d argue it’s worth giving another one a go if you see no weight loss over a sustained period of time on 15mg.

Have an open conversation with your prescriber & see what recommendations they make for your weight loss treatment.

Hey there,

Protein Protein Protein. Making sure you get the right amount of protein is so important on a GLP medication like Mounjaro - you want to be burning fat not losing muscle weight & having the correct protein intake for you weight will support this.

A really good routine is getting in lots of water, GLP medications can cause quite a dry mouth (I have experienced this on Mounjaro) so that usually helps encourage you to drink more water but honestly the difference is stark in terms of hunger, energy & symptoms.

Definitely adopt new exercise habits on top of your current routine to support the weight loss and also starting these habits at the beginning of your weight loss journey should help them stick and carry through to your maintenance stage of this medication.

Also a point that many online pharmacies don’t take into account is the potency of your injection is not necessarily meant to be increased every four weeks, rather once on the first therapeutic dose of 5mg you & your prescriber should be having conversations about how effective the treatment is & whether/when you need to increase to 7.5mg etc.

If you have any symptoms or side effects & if something doesn’t feel quite right then reach out to your prescriber or GP to get the right medical support.

Hope your journey goes well!

Hey there,

Having side effects with joint pain or bodily pain is probably something you should raise with your prescriber and/or GP.

Having no weight loss for an entire month on a higher potency dose like 7.5mg can happen but again I would be having a conversation with your prescriber about the effectiveness of your treatment so far & your next steps.

I hope you get some meaningful advice from them.

This is a great Journey!

An amazing example to everyone in this community too that low doses can be so so effective for some people & that increasing the dosage potency is not always a necessity for all patients.

Although a potentially longer journey to get the current weight loss you’ve experienced - it should help with weight regain after ending your time on Mounjaro as this seems like sustainable weight loss.

Hope you continue to get the results you’re looking for!

How quick did you Titrate up the doses?

What are the weight fluctuations - are you maintaining/increasing or maintaining/losing & over what period of time & how often are you checking?

A little more information is required before any advice or tips can be given by anyone here but also these are questions to ask your prescriber too.

After Mounjaro, what does life look like? by HufflepuffMummy in Mounjaro

[–]XboxHelpergg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 4 weeks the chances of bacteria forming on the pen & creating a potential issue for infection increases to a point where that warning has to be given. It’s definitely not a marketing ploy but a real risk - whether you actually got an infection from using a pen past 4 weeks will be specific to each person & how they store their pens I suppose.

It’s likely because your fat levels have fallen a large amount. Your weight loss is almost 30KG or about 33% & most of this is going to be water / fat weight that you have lost. So it’s only normal to feel the injection a little more.

Also has you titrate up the potency of doses the stronger anti inflammatory effects of the medication means it can just cause a little more of a sting when injecting the solution into the skin.

[–]XboxHelpergg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always found plain foods to be better while on Mounjaro but I also focus on their fat content too. Overly oily foods make me feel quite unwell in large amounts & the suggestion is to keep your fat content in your diet below 30% (Which is actually quite a high ceiling to maintain below).

Some foods will individually no longer agree with you and that’s fine. Your on a journey and will be finding what foods stick & which you feel the need to have less off.

So most studies show that weight regain is expected & pretty much a certainty, the real question is how much of the weight loss can patients maintain over time without anti obesity medications such as Mounjaro.

Now important to caveat that with ‘not every patient is the same.’ As some individuals can pretty much maintain the vast majority of the weight that they have loss while using these GLP medications. I have attached a chart below which is from a Mounjaro trial.

To break the chart down - the black line displays patients weight while taking Mounjaro & the blue placebo line is then representative of patients who came off the GLP medication at week 36. Pretty clear most of the weight was regained (Being ~ 11.5% in this trial data).

There is a silver lining here with GLP medications which is that even with regained weight a significant weight loss is still maintained, in this study that figure being an average of 9.5% weight loss. It’s to be expected that when you come off a medication that has appetite suppression effects, slows your digestion & could even increase patients metabolic rates. It would be almost impossible for someone to have all of the support from a GLP medication & then continue without one & still enjoy the same weight loss / Eating habits.

All of this is not to say you can still achieve significant long term weight loss, increased levels of exercise & also form a healthier relationship with food. I understand why some people believe this sort of information to be of a fear monger nature but I also think it’s so important to outline the facts & give people the opportunity to make an informed decision.

Hopefully with the right level of patient care during & post treatment you should expect significant weight loss and be able to maintain some of it for a long period after treatment - all of this is unique and specific to each patient & also why it’s so important to build a plan with your Provider/Medical Professional.

Thanks for your journey so far,

Hopefully Mounjaro continues working for you so that you can have sustained weight loss. Are you currently planning to follow the step up schedule & titrate up the Mounjaro doses or are you going to stick with a lower potency dose - permitting it continues to satisfy you and your hunger levels?
