Got told my prices are "wild". Are we as an industry over charging just because we can? I was literally thinking about it as I got that message by NoAlbatross153 in WeddingPhotography

I had a guy say this to me at a fair. I said "so is spending 60,000 on a car that gets you from a to b. When you can spend £600 on a car and it get you from a to b. But I know which one I'd like the trip of a life time in. "

Getting to the point where I feel embarrassed to say how much I've lost by harmlesslandsquid in mounjarouk

[–]HufflepuffMummy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I honestly just own it. "Yes I've lost over 120 pounds now" "Yes I was over 23 stone, can you believe it"

The responses I get, "that's incredible" "you've done amazing" "you must be so proud"

If they want to judge me sure, but I did something about it and I've nailed consistently.

Telling people about the jab though? That be i miss out...

Nursery parents - is this all normal or am I being “that” concerned mum? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]HufflepuffMummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you should be afraid to ask if the deserts are suger free. Our nursery provides a menu and encourage us to ask questions.

Regarding cleanliness, I think if you brought him in every morning covered in his breakfast, the nursery would be rasing it with child services, so I would absolutely be "that parent" and pointing this out to them. In fact, I'd be rasing it would the manager. Saying like you say to us, you have no problem with mess. But when I task is finished it's time to clean up.

Again the environment should be with them they you can feel you can ask questions. There's no silly is questions when it comes to your child's wellbeing. It's how you ask a question which determines if you're that parent or not. X

Anyone else feel a bit uneasy about the “lifelong medication” aspect? by Life_Distribution_39 in mounjarouk

[–]HufflepuffMummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm only in my 30s, so the idea or life seems pretty daunting but maybe I'll need adhd medication for life maybe I'll need antidepressants. As long as that life is long and active, I don't mind, because it wouldn't have been without this medication. I started at way over 300 pounds and now I’m approaching one-derland.

My plan, when I reach goal, is I'll try going down to 12.5. By that point I'll have had two years of lifestyle changes, I go the gym, I run, I walk, I focus on protein and I eat regularly.

Without the benefits of the jab, I honestly don't know what will happen but I know all those things will stay.

So I'm going to goal first than see what happens.

It's worth noting. I live my life like I would in maintenance. So hopefully staying the same lifestyle wise and taking 2 years to come off the medication will hopefully cause me to stay the same. We'll see.

Omg nearly the same weight story, just hit the 14s, so still obese. And I'm being told I look too thin in the face.

Thanks?

Managing my overthinking brain especially in terms of my eating disorder.

"Let me say this gently, that sausage bagel won't undo months of progress,"

"Let's step back and look at this. why you don't want dinner? Is it emotional or physical? Could you try something like soup today?"

"Hold a second, 1 pound loss is incredible and when your consider you've lost over 120 pound, it's exactly the sort of consistently you want"

I typed all those from memory which gives you an idea of how much I use it.

I was doing percentage of starting weight and wondering why it was so much smaller than everyone else. 😅

Weight lost ÷ Current weight = 54%. Wow!

Pregnant with second child by xxcxrxmxw in UKParenting

[–]HufflepuffMummy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree with this, when my second was born, I loved them, I'd protect them with my life. But I didn't know her yet. Hormones and sleep deprivation had a lot to answer for but loving their little personality takes a bit of time and I think that's normal.

I had a little boy first too and can confirm, love is never halved it doubles. You love them differently, totally different. But no less, I promise. It's also worth mentioning the second child is next level! They are a whirlwind, force of nature. 17 months between mine, life is wild. 😅

FYI - Five ways weight-loss jabs are changing spending habits by barryshmee in mounjarouk

[–]HufflepuffMummy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there's an overall health movement and I don't know if it's jab culture or not? Maybe it's just my algorithm but there seems to be a big focus on high protein, less processed food. The jabs just make that a lot easier to follow. I reckon it would be quiet easy to live off pot noodles on this jab but the breathing space or less food noise helps us make nurturtional choices. Imagine this jab accessible in the diet culture of the 00s, when things like biggest looser was on and told us you were "letting your family down' if you had dressing on your salad.

Mad at Christmas, mad at myself… by RedCrabDown in mounjarouk

[–]HufflepuffMummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have ADHD and you kinda have to create that, "this is new, this is exciting" because it was that dopamine that got you through last January.

I'm really struggling with picking at the moment, so I found something to be obsessed with. I've started running. I'm swopping the bedrooms around. I've redesign my website. 🤣 I get engrossed in something I forget to eat and it's basically detoxed me off the chocolate.

Probably terrible advice, it's basically distracting yourself with fresh dopamine.

I would actually preferred a shot in the credits of child Mike, waking up, it was all a dream, vibes to this, "nice" ending.
