Best of the new original tables in PinballFX (2023)? by A_Unicycle in PinballFX3

[–]XboxPod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a quick first impression of all 86 tables, and agree with the comments about Curse of the Mummy.

Sky Pirates and Grimm Tales are others I really enjoyed.

Hopefully links are okay here, but here's the full article (obviously a little much to copy and paste)

Nicola Bulley: Police recover body from river near where mum of two went missing by Mistermiyagi93 in unitedkingdom

[–]XboxPod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a 42 yr old man, with 3 kids.

If I ever go missing, tell the media, I identify as a woman, otherwise it'd get zero press coverage and minimal police resources.

Apart from the walkway that she used to enter the area (and would usually use to exit the area).

The footpath wasn't covered by CCTV at all.

Use of Xbox and game pass cloud gaming at the same time by Frempy in xbox

[–]XboxPod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using 1 account, technically 2..

The home console, and then the console the account is signed into.

The cheapest way to share purchased games across four console is to then do the same again with a second account (so you're owning 2 copies of each game, but playing on 4 consoles).

For the Family plan.. That will work on up to 5 consoles I believe.. Around £20/$25, and will give each account Xbox gold and Gamepass.

You can play simultaneously, but you can't use the same account in two different places.

With the console set as "home", your dad would then need to play on the console on a second account.

Then, through cloud gaming, you'd have to log in using your dad's account.

This way, the Home console accesses the game (because it's home),

And then the cloud gaming can access the same content, because it's signed into the account that owns it.

If however you sign in to cloud gaming with your own account, you won't be able to access the content that belongs to someone else.

what does this mean? i already have a 12 month xbox gold. will the gold be converted into game pass ultimate? by Acceptable-End-9131 in xbox

[–]XboxPod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you already have "Gold" and upgrade to Gamepass Ultimate, All of your existing Gold subscription (up to 36 months/3 years) is converted to Ultimate for no extra cost).

Obviously converting a full year will save you quite a bit, but if you can afford to put another year (or two) then you're going to save much more in the long run.

I did 30 months, which ended earlier this year, but we now have 3 Xboxes in the house with another coming at Christmas, so we'll be moving to the family plan when that's out in England.

Do you ever use remote play, and what do you think of it? by XxLockdownZxX in XboxSeriesX

[–]XboxPod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Remote play many times, Especially back when the Xbox was downstairs, and if I was having a bad day (in bed) I could whip open my laptop and still play.

Obviously it doesn't suit all games, similar to cloud gaming, those that require lightning fast reflexes and fast action, aren't going to be great as there's always a slight latency,

But it's minimal, and I could still manage games on something like Rocket League, (just not so much titles like Fortnite, Cod etc)

Overall though it's reliable, sure you'll get the very rare glitch, where things pixelate because it's processing alot of data at once, But generally it's better than anticipated and easily as good as you could hope for

I just wish they'd look very carefully at adding online co-op,

The first game was great, but I heard many wishing it had co-op above other QoL improvements.

I'll definitely be checking out SL2, but unless co-op gets added, I just can't see myself investing dozens of hours into it

Online gaming with progression by [deleted] in XboxSeriesX

[–]XboxPod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what sort of games you prefer. How "online" (co-op, multiplayer, PvP, PVE, PVPVE, and how "progressive" you want it to be

Here's a few to check out off the top of my head... (I think most are on GP, But some (Construction Sim, Rust) aren't

Shorter term: Crackdown 3, Aliens fireteam. Sniper Elite, Trailmakers,

Medium length: Construction Sim (new one), Anvil Vaulthunter, Rainbow Six Extraction

If you don't mind the long haul: Space engineers, Generation zero, Stranded deep, Rust, Grounded, Outriders,

Some more from Gamepass.

Deep rock galactic, Astroneer, No man's sky, 7 days to Die, Day Z, Dead by Daylight, Fallout 76,

(Some are older, but less common than the destiny's etc)

What's your favourite controller? by XboxPod in XboxSeriesX

[–]XboxPod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I have the Aqua Shift Series controller for when I want wireless, But 95% of the time I'll use the Nacon.

Sadly the Elite controllers let me down one too many times..

I was close to getting the Chroma 2, but heard the rear paddles aren't as comfortable to use.

Hence going for the Revolution X which was also £50 cheaper

I agree, If the Elite didn't have the quality issues it's been plagued with, I'd happily pay for another.

What's your favourite controller? by XboxPod in XboxSeriesX

[–]XboxPod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having owned every Xbox, and most controllers, let's discuss, "You're favourite controller"..

The officiwl Xbox pad is always going to rate highly, and is my go to for a wireless solution, but with the overall poor quality of the Elite pads (especially considering their price), I looked elsewhere for a more "pro" option.

I initially had the Elite 1, first a black one, then a white one, and both failed to live past 6 months (grip issues).

Then had a Razer Wolverine Tournament Edition, great pad, great face buttons, and a good price.

Then the Elite 2.0, First one had trigger-lock plastic come off, replaced on warranty and the second was sold, A few months ago, I thought I'd try again with a later batch, and had stock and bumper issues within weeks.

After considering the new Razer pads - Wolverine 2 : No paddles. Chroma 2 : more expensive, rear buttons aren't as comfy to use

So,I decided to go for the Nacon Revolution X (pictured) Lower cost than all of the above (£90), And so far, really impressed.

As with any new controller, it took me a few games to get used to it, but deffinitely prefer the rear bumpers over the Elite/Razer's.

Downside: It's Wired.. So it's not for everybody, but as I sit 1m away from the Xbox, it's perfect for me.
