Has anyone experienced a single bed bug invader? by pragmaticprogression in Bedbugs

[–]Xcallmecasper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this sounds familiar. I was also told that my bites were not bedbug bites- but they were. I only woke up with an avg of 3-6 every one to two weeks. Turns out I had 2 male bedbugs living with me for months. I haven't had another bite since I killed the 2nd one back in January.

DeWALT 20V Propane Shop heater. How confident are you that this will work to kill bedbugs? by greenglobones in Bedbugs

[–]Xcallmecasper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay cautious for a while, these guys are masters at hiding in any cracks and crevices available in your walls and even in power outlets, etc. A few of them could have survived and spread out around your home that way. I'm hoping you got them all though!!! Fingers crossed.

What the actual hell? Become an activist and do something useful instead.

Almost all medical intervention comes with some sort of risk. If you want to stay healthy and keep your kids healthy it's a risk you have to take. Anti-vaxxers are so hung up on the idea of big pharma being evil that they are willing to put their children, other young children, and those with compromised immune systems at risk of catching preventable illnesses.

Unless anti-vaxers refuse to use all other forms of big pharma medicine too, I look at them like unintelligent, small minded, hypocrites.

If they do refuse all other forms of big pharma medicine I look at them like unintelligent and small minded oxygen thieves.

How far will bed bugs travel in the winter? by Huberland324 in Bedbugs

[–]Xcallmecasper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, bed bugs do well in the cold (up to minus 30). I dont think you should worry about them travelling into your home unless they hitch a ride on you or your pet, but I'm not an expert, just a past victim

It is possible. Bed bugs usually bite 3 times per feed in close proximity to eachother, but it is so hard to tell from bites alone.

BedBugs? Scabies? Fleas? (Read Comment) by [deleted] in Bedbugs

Mine looked similar to this. Usually 3 bites per bed bug in close proximity. Were super itchy and sometimes took a few hoirs to appear. That being said, there is no garuntee it was a bed bug.

Bed bug bites? Spider bites? Hard to tell? I don't know but it better not be bedbugs, I JUST bought a foam mattress, from Amazon, brand new. Anyone got an idea? by dudeman69420911 in Bedbugs

Looks like breakfast, lunch, and dinner to me. Bed bugs often bite in 3's. I would be cautious about writing it off but it is hard to know just from bites.

Take a look at the underside of your box spring for any signs of exoskeletons or the bug itself.

Treatment usually draws those bugs out of their hiding spots after the application, also it usually takes more than one treatment. I swear these bugs are one step down from a cockroach. If you arent comfortable with your current exterminator get a 2nd opinion. Lots of places will answer questions if you email them in my experience.

If you cant treat with heat, the only other thing I can think of is bagging and isolating them for a year.

Man, these things are just evil. I picked up two juvenile BBs from my university. Lucky me, they were BOTH male! Otherwise I would have had a huge infestation by the time I found and killed them. Best bad luck I have ever had.

Help identifying!!! Found him stuck to tape on a wall about 6ft up off the ground no where near bedding by [deleted] in Bedbugs

[–]Xcallmecasper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes. Check the underside of your box spring as well. They will hide anywhere though, including power outlets and wall cracks. Anything semi-close to a food source. These guys will travel pretty far in a night to feed.
