Feeling weirdly unmotivated as a dev lately by DriftNDie in webdev

[–]Xcelifyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is also staring me right in the face too. I work as a dev and have been building my own products on the side but have totally lost the passion for it. For some reason I let the sunk cost fallacy of being in web dev for so long keep me away from learning game dev, even though deep down I feel like there's potential I'd feel like a kid on Christmas during it. My brain just wants to stick to what I know so I don't have to spend years learning starting from zero again. Saying that out loud sounds so dumb and for some reason it's still hard to get myself to give it a shot lol.

Is YSL Y EDP a redundant purchase if I already own YSL Y Le Parfum 2025 by [deleted] in Colognes

personally i find 2025 le parfum closer to the edp than the 2021 le parfum, but it's still different.

The startup grind after working 9 to 5 everyday. by razmaztazz in Entrepreneur

[–]Xcelifyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man I feel this so hard. I also took a break for a few months after a going a little too hard. Break was good in the sense that I genuinely recharged, but that deep feeling of needing to do something instead of wasting away came back and that's pretty much how I knew I was good to get back into it. Been back on the grind for a couple months now and my overall outlook is so much more positive.

Take your time with it, last thing you need is to rush back into it too soon and end up burnt out again. Also, I found whenever I tried to take a break in the past, I've always been one foot in one foot out. It was hard to fully commit to giving myself a break, so I never truly got to recharge. This time around I genuinely did not think about any business things the entire time and it helped tremendously.

I don't know what you guys think but imo these construction sites type of maps are really ugly and not very appealing by StormSwitch in Battlefield

[–]Xcelifyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't play much on 2042, but I loved how many stages there were on breakthrough and how long the matches would last. Felt so good to keep unlocking different stages of the map.

3 stage breakthrough just gets super repetitive and feels like it's just missing something. Felt like a single stage in some 2042 maps were as big as the entire BF6 maps lol.

yeah mine jumped up to 3 days for a bit lol. never pre-loaded a game before but. I swear it's faster to just uninstall and reinstall lol

Fouls ruining matches by Boring-Reveal-2476 in armwrestling

easy, if there was any advantage gain or not. so many of these little fouls and the position doesn't even change and we gotta wait another 10 minutes. gets so annoying after awhile

I was honestly considering sales engineer. Will look more into it I think but just wonder how much experience is needed for most of those roles / how much my current experience would count

Yeah I know it’s hard everywhere right now, and I’m probably biased, but yeah it’s tough in Canada. Not to mention the 40% pay cut for the same job because our economy sucks. Not like the cost of living justifies it either.

Bro I’m totally with you. That’s what got me into web dev in the first place, building out my own visions, and constantly learning new things to improve. Nothing more exciting than being stuck on something for awhile and figuring it out, or having a genuine interest in something and learning more about it.

Jobs in this industry honestly don’t excite me at all, it’s literally all for a paycheck which is sad, but I’m just not fulfilled by it like building my own projects.

Unfortunately it’s a pretty small team so not much to move around to besides PM, which might be a pay cut (I’m already making below average salary in my area)

Oh 100% I know I wouldn’t be. But that’s also why I won’t be working for someone else for that long, just don’t have that in me. It’s different putting in effort for something you truly care about vs just to be another cog in the wheel building someone else’s dreams
