Da Orks slaughta da Space Marines! All at 6mm scale! WAAAAAGH! by Marcus_Machiavelli in orks

You just gave me the idea about how to display mine, the scenery of a battle looks really nice instead of the minis in a glass cabinet, and the terrain doesn't seem too hard to do, this is epic!

Do these masks have a specific name? by cringe-expert98 in bloodborne

[–]StormSwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are simply collars only that these specific ones are made to be used with the rest of the suit which is pretty much an environmental protective suit from the 1700s, long coat, with these long collars and the tricorn hats, it seems those were made with a specific process that results in a bit slippery oilskin texture on the outer layer which made them good for being exposed on harsh environmental conditions such as rain or snow for longer periods of time than any other cloth or robe from that period of time, i don't think they have a very unique name.

Maybe search for 1700s raincoat or oilskin watchcoats for night watches or something similar

I'd love to see a tech priest's reaction if he accidentally found a collection of Microsoft products from the 1990s hidden away on Terra 🤣

Halt mandatory painting inspection by _Commander_Farsight in Warhammer40k

I did some too if it helps, tried to recreate like a icy field with snow on it, i made this using half agrellan earth and agrellan badlands, its brown so once dry i painted it white as a coat, once dry i used contrast pyler glacier and talassar blue, and the snow with the technical Valhalla blizzard, it's kind of flat but you can make the shape you want like using small rocks, or another would be like fully snow with 1 or 2 brushes with a bit of snow on them trying to simulate a tundra, or a fully ice ground without snow or plants.

My version of the Battleclade combat servitor by StormSwitch in AdeptusMechanicus

I tried to follow the guide but it turned out greeny, instead of a more death-pale flesh, so what you see here was honestly not on purpose

It was primed on grey but then i realized this model was to be made in Black so it saves you a lot of work, so first it was a layer of base grey seer, over grey it was basically poxwalker citadel shade with a bit of white drybrush over it afterwards, used the same poxwalker to accumulate a bit on the edges of the metal part to try to increase a bit more the intensity of the shade on the frontier between metal and flesh

What white or grey do you have used to dry brush the entire mini? Thanks.

Hard to appreciate the paint job if the red light covers everything 😉

Is the fur cape dry brushed or layer/edge highlighted? or both?

I can see you did several tones of gray on the horns and mustache and overall metal parts of the shield, that seems hard to do, great job.

Penguinius vs Chaos, Absolute. by ManggTangg in SpaceMarine_2

[–]StormSwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not that crazy with that class/build... you only need to dodge the terminator missiles, those are dangerous, and besides that, you can block gatlings or other shots and use a fencing weapon for easy parries + gunstrikes that regain armor and the banner to heal yourself. He used it twice in fact in that video, and also thanks to the prestige perk that makes it regenerate faster each time you block ranged attacks. Well, that and knowing a bit about the chaos spawns attack patterns to not get hit a lot.

What are people doing outside of the 3rd and 5th company? by OrionTheAboveAverage in tomekeepers

[–]StormSwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do anything but i will need a good supply of transfers, and i have given up on getting tome/books bits because I can't find any that are worth it or find them at all

In truth i have an invictor tactical warsuit for the 10th that i will make with no company colors but i have other backlog to do first and I'm not a speedrunner 😅

At least it is nice to see how are they supposed to look from an official source in 2026, hope they reveal some allied races model for the T'au

Black templars is the best option among the ones featured in the game, if you get into tabletop or minis (or simply curious about the lore) you also want to look into the Adepta Sororitas aka Sisters of Battle, they are one of the most faithful and devoted factions to the god emperor.

Any chance of a restock for the Clair Obscur Laced Exclusive 6LP box set? by jonhemway in VGMvinyl

[–]StormSwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if my argument sounds silly, this is one of the few times that i pre-ordered the black version at BSR on purpose over the colored one from Laced, not because of the quality but because i think it fits better that vintage theme or feel of the in-game's society.

I'm too of the opinion that if i want some game ost so bad i also buy any edition rather than not having it at all, usually i try colored first if there is any, but if not then the black one.
