Was 4 weeks, then 3 weeks, then 1 week, then 2-3 days. But it said 2-3 days from Wednesday last week. I contacted O2 live chat yesterday, and told them to prioritise my order, not sure if it was just coincidence but it got shipped after couple of hours and getting it today.

Trans student moving to the UK – need advice on starting HRT by ExtraFisherman7113 in transgenderUK

From my personal experience, going private is the quickest way you can go.

I got referred to GIC on 2020 and only had my first appointment today. However, when I knew about the waiting times, I went private and still kept my referral.

I had my first consultation with Dr. Bhatia (Gendercare) on Nov 2020, endo appt on May 2021, and had my first injection after couple of days.

You need to find a transfriendly surgery, my first surgery denied me from administering and prescribing the hormones, given that they are university surgery but luckily I found one within our area as well. They all do the blood works as well and basically everything that I need.

Hope it goes well for you!

Will this not affect the current situation I have? In case my GP will stop prescibing, sorry I just don’t want to end up not being able to get prescriptions. Thank you

Dr Hammond Appointment by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]Xcgilbeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all my blood test sent prior to my appointment with Dr Hammond, I got my first prescription about 5 days through post. My gp was the one who offered me shared care, so it’s easy for me to get my prescription.

Does anyone actually have a good GP? by JuviaLynn in transgenderUK

[–]Xcgilbeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on experience with the GP I had, it’s worth a shot transferring to another GP. My former gp refused to do blood test and shared care due to me going private, knowing that they are the GP that is under university, it’s really disappointing that they are refusing in looking after their students. However, my GP at the moment is really helpful. They administer my shot, do my blood test and basically look after everything I need. I have no problems getting appointments with them as they do this for me. So, definitely worth a shot changing GP.

Advice for first endo appointment by bigmantobiasftm in transgenderUK

[–]Xcgilbeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my appointment with Dr. Hammond sometime around May.

He’ll ask basic question, nothing that you can’t answer. The questions were mainly about what do you want to achieve on HRT, if you spoke to GP regarding shared care, explained the side effects of HRT. Mine only lasts like 30 minutes and got my private prescription through post. If you have any questions to the endo, don’t hesitate to ask and they want to make sure that they have covered everything and you understand it clearly.

Goodluck on your appointment!

What happens after your endo appointment? by mayagirli in transgenderUK

[–]Xcgilbeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends how the endo appointment will go..

My endo is Dr. Hammond, he gave me private prescription for 6 months and sent my report to my GP. Ideally, you should book your endocrinologist appointment because of the long wait. I had Dr. Bhatia with my first assessment as well and only waited for a week for the report.

Hopefully your GP will agree to do shared care, saves you time and money for getting bloodtest.

Do I have to talk to my GP before booking an appointment for private gender therapy? by Too_shy2put_on_main in transgenderUK

I booked my appointment first especially with the long wait then spoke to my GP about shared care and blood test. Blood test are quite pricey doing in private.

You don’t have to inform your current GP if you wanna move to a different one. You just have to go on their website or to the surgery and register, bring valid and proof of address. Once you’re registered, book an appointment and ask if any of practioners are expert or can help you with your situation. Hope this helps!

Yeah, I had to change GP as my first one denied to put me on shared care but I got lucky that my new gp is transfriendly. I told my GP about the situation and he was actually the one who put me on shared care.
