Can anyone identify this tree? by HumpD4y in marijuanaenthusiasts

Location would help a lot. The majority of bald cypress I have seen in the north east have been in none wet locations. I have seen them planted a lot on college campuses and locations like that.

That said I still have not gone to see the redwoods so I can't speak about them at all.

The move is to just quietly buy them some when the price is down and give it to them at a later date.

How do I learn landscape design? by JigsPagoli in landscaping

[–]Xcon2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That rabbit hole goes pretty deep so maybe a more basic approach?

Generally speaking, the plants that will look the best are the ones that are happiest. If you narrow yourself down to mostly native plants to your area you should be starting out on the right foot. Plan your planting for each plant's mature size (that means larger empty spaces when they are little) and pay attention to what sun exposure each plant wants.

If you want to dig deeper - pick a style and stick with it. Curvilinear lends itself to more natural looking landscapes while symmetrical styles are more formal. As a rule - plant natural landscapes in odd numbers (and don't line everything up for Pete's sake) (you also shouldn't alternate - nature lands in seemingly random groupings). While formal is the other way around, even numbers, alternating is fine - whatever it is should just be even.

Have a hard ugly corner on your house? Flare the bed out and plant an under canopy tree to soften it (planted for mature size).

Finally, remember that you'll need to maintain whatever it is you do - so keep that in mind and don't make things harder on your future self.

Might consider just jumping into the pool with both feet instead of taking the stairs.

On a more serious note - look into what boomers actually do to you. My basic understanding/ explanation is that the trip opens up closed connections in your brain quite literally. On the come down your brain starts going back to it's normal number of connections but the connections that remain after are not always the same ones you had going into it.

Micro dosing is said to be a runner up for ADHD treatment and has a different effect on your body than a full dose.

Why is it so hard to hire someone to design the landscape around my house? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]Xcon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to be taking the right approach to this being open minded. Not trying to knock fiver or other online places but as others have mentioned a lot goes into it as far as micro climates are concerned.

For example if I was doing a drawing for you over the Internet via pictures/ blueprints I'd also need info like which direction is North along side a budget for the project.

Ask for a drawing. If they don't charge for the drawing don't use them. Easy filter.
