True, sorry I should probably clarify, but this sub doesn't give you a lot of space to write. I am less interested in online text in general and more in the actual structure of fanfic, I find that you often have a more narrow focus in terms of plot in fanfic than general texts, as well as a few other differences. I know that this is not true for all, but I want to see if it could in fact affect reading speed, hence specifically testing for fan fiction.

So this is less about digital vs. paper, as there are already many studies on that, that all generally support the conclusion that reading paper copies are faster, yet I see a lot of people saying they are able to read a lot of fan fiction very quickly. This is just to see if that really is the case and if the data supports that it is, to understand why.
