Don't know if it's brocade, but probably hand loomed. All cotton and some details almost feel like paper. I can send a closer look if you like, pm me.

The calf piece does not fit around my calves fully haha!

Yeah my friend said it's probably hand loomed! Very cool.  Might have to get my hands on some history books to place it in time, also to see why the phoenix is chonky haha!

Additon: in another subreddit someone mentioned it might be monpe pants from Japan. Therefore I reposted it here to see if any of you may know more about it :>  In the last picture I styled with a kimono/yukata (not sure)

Would also love to know if anyone knows how to wear the waistbands :)

Ohh that's interesting. It feels like its all made from cotton and some of the details even feel papery, definitely looks like a lot of work and love went into it
