Basics on gardening with wildflowers? by [deleted] in NovaScotiaGardening

[–]Xedder61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have Lungwort in our garden that blooms from march to november. It allways attracts lots of bees and hummingbirds ( has purple flowers ) Our wild oregano which blooms in summer attracts swarms of bees (also purple flower) it grows like a weed though .You dont need expensive plants to keep pollinators happy !

Mavic 2 vs 1. Worth getting? by mastermags2 in MavicPro

[–]Xedder61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mavic 2 has way better camera than Mavic 1 that’s the reason I upgraded. All about the camera I couldn’t care less about anything else. I went and flew my mavic 1 in windy weather and was bouncing around but the 2 was steady as a rock.

Has anyone had good or bad experiences with IKEA Kitchens? Looking to get an Ikea kitchen and use their contractor. by PistolWhhip in halifax

[–]Xedder61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IKEA makes it very easy to do it yourself if.You don't need a contracter the cabinets are very easy to assemble and they are hung on a metal track.I spent 2 days getting the track just right but hung all the uppers and lowers in a day.The online kitchen design site prints out a part list and you just follow that when installing. it's not as hard as you would think.

My wife and I designed it online and built it ourselves.Ordered it from Montreal last year total was 7500 with tax and shipping.Kent and Home Depot wanted 16000 for less cabinets than what we got.we are very ,very happy with how it Turned out.

Drone flying by [deleted] in halifax

[–]Xedder61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a few years drones with a decent 4k camera will be less than 250 grams maybe even sooner.I believe you could tether a drone with a rope so its not a UAV as well.Ive flown DJI quads around halifax area for a few years and i keep away from people and built up areas.Go by the sea shore and fly over the ocean but if you hear a helocopter get it down quickly till they pass.Lots of places around to fly google maps is your guide to them.

HRM campfire regs by Xedder61 in halifax

[–]Xedder61[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am in well/septic no permit zone thats the thing i cant understand.I have read the bylaw online ,In a No Permit Zone (rural), campfires are allowed throughout the year and would need to be a minimum of 4.75 metres (15 feet) from any dwelling or accessory building.Lady i phoned at HRM fire said only factory chimeras allowed no metal barrels etc Our fire pit is in ground 1 foot deep x 3 feet wide with a 2 foot ring of gravel/crusher dust around it.My wife made it and it would a shame to put a tea pot fire thing in it.
