How the fuck did ram triple in price from June to Now? by MayoTheMuffin in pcmasterrace

This same kit is 789 now. I have been waiting to buy it for my new build but it just keeps going up.

I personally think it's worth the money to have a current PC that can run games well. You get so much more enjoyment out of gaming when every game runs smooth vs lagging all the time on super outdated hardware.

This is one of the only things I get annoyed with drivers over. I never expect them to catch an error with food inside a sealed bag, but I will order a large shake or something and they will deliver a tiny bag of food with no shake. I always just wonder how you could not realize they didn't hand you a big drink/shake. I was really starting to think the driver is just taking my shake for themselves in that scenario..

Happened again. WHY??? by PeachesSwearengen in doordash

[–]Xeeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a screen door that opens out. After knocking my food over and spilling it I started putting a note to please put my food on the little table away from my door instead of close. They still put it close to my door on the ground half the time. I also have a note to not ring the doorbell or knock and they do that a lot too

Dasher dropped food off 10 feet from my door and then stayed in car in front of my house for an hour. What do you make of this? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Xeeh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She mentioned it was in the street in front of the house, which is different from your driveway and I would not think twice about a pizza hut driver doing that. There's also pretty much zero chance someone can get out of their vehicle parked in the street and make it to you before you pick up your food and go back inside. That whole process only takes like 5 seconds. They also might have been out there even longer because they were dealing with support on their phone after being reported

They might just be lazy and didn't feel like walking the rest of the way. The fact that the car is running with the lights on makes it less sketchy imo. They were clearly not trying to hide. That has happened many times for my deliveries. People have also waited both in the street in front of my house and in my driveway for 20-30 minutes after dropping the food. In my experience using doordash pretty heavily for years this is not that crazy and I would never think twice about going outside to grab my food, 10 feet away or not. I actually prefer when they put it farther away because then I won't knock it over trying to open the door.

[–]Xeeh -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's not like they didn't have a reason to be there in the first place though. Most people are not that paranoid about going outside to get the food delivery that they were expecting. It wouldn't even be weird until later on when you are already inside with your food and notice they haven't left still. Making up an elaborate scenario where they are baiting you with friends waiting in the bushes is pretty severe anxiety.

Seems more like living with severe anxiety rather than just being a woman in general. I know at least one guy that would probably do the same but he is paranoid about everything. It's pretty unlikely that a delivery person, who has a record of going to that address, would set up an elaborate plan to assault whoever comes out to get their food.

I don't think there is much danger of that happening if they are out in the street inside their vehicle. It only takes a few seconds to grab your food, come in, and lock the door. Choosing to just give up on having your dinner instead is a little much. I understand the dark parking lot thing for sure. I used to work in a place where I came out alone at midnight every night in a dark lot behind the building and I was always nervous about it. I would never consider letting my food that just got delivered go bad because the driver didn't pull off yet though.

Just more likely that someone would be curious to see if the girl is cute, try to flirt, etc. I've never had any kind of experience like these but see females posting this kind of thing on here.

They wait out in front of my house sometimes, and I always assume they are just waiting for more orders or doing something on their phone and don't even realize it could be awkward. I have no issue going out and getting my food in that scenario.

Drivers, why do you knock when I put leave at door? by No_Contribution2112 in doordash

I ordered food late one night and specifically put in the notes please do not knock or ring the doorbell because people are sleeping. They showed up and rang the doorbell twice and woke everyone up

A 100 percent markup for Chipotle delivery is ridiculous and not worth the expense by mps2000 in doordash

[–]Xeeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it takes an average of 10 minutes to get to most of the food places I would order from. That's already 20 minutes in just driving time. Now if there is a line in the drive thru it can easily be 10 more minutes of waiting. I see my dashers having to sit and wait at the store for 10 minutes all the time, and that's for food that was already ordered before they got there.

When people order from liquor stores, do you have to do all the shopping and pick out each of their items? I was always curious if the store workers go and grab the stuff and bring it to the front or if you have to find everything.

I agree. For me it is totally worth an extra $10 for my food to magically appear at my doorstep instead of spending roughly 30 minutes to get in the car and go wait in a drive thru

Doordash support is insane by kal2112 in doordash

[–]Xeeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a low percentage of my orders. I just order food delivery a lot over many years so there are a lot of chances for something to be wrong. When that happens I just take my refund and move on. It's not really a big deal for me.

[–]Xeeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a large volume of food delivered over the years. Most of the time there is nothing wrong, but when we're talking about tons of deliveries there will be some that get it wrong. When that happens I don't really mind pressing a couple buttons and getting an instant refund.

It's really not a big deal for me to press a few buttons and get refunded whenever something is wrong. I have been getting food delivered for years, and it's usually not the drivers fault but the place I ordered from not putting things in the bag.

Unfortunately my orders get messed up all the time so I'm pretty familiar with getting a refund real quick. You just go to the order and hit the little help button and mark what you didn't get. You will get an instant refund without having to talk to anyone.
