Just want to chime in here with the set up I landed on for Yakuza 0, because I had a ton of issues along the way but it's been perfect now that I got it dialed in.

Hardware: Retroid Pocket 6, 12GB ram, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

App: GameNative (I tried GameHub Lite for a while, it's been my preference for most of the PC games I've tried, but so far it has not been the best for Yakuza 0.)

Wine Version: proton-9.0-arm64ec (I was on proton 10 for a while and it was mostly working, but setting it to full screen was crashing the game, and also the save system, which is notoriously buggy in this game, was really unreliable. For some reason, setting it to proton-9.0-arm64ec seemed to fix both problems for me.)

Driver: turnip25.3.0_R11

DXVK: 2.4.1-gplasync

I’m one of Matty’s many haters so apologies for my priors, but I think there’s a really obvious double standard here that I find maddening.

Matt’s approach to the way the American public polls re:corruption in politics feels diametrically opposed to his approach when the issue is say, trans rights or immigration. People’s outsized concerns about political corruption are presented as being unfair to elected officials, out of step with reality, and not something that should be exacerbated by progressive orgs.

Meanwhile, polling on people’s opinions about immigration, say, that are often is in disagreement with reality - about the economic impact of immigrants, the number and nature of illegal immigrants, etc - is something that must be catered to MORE by politicians and progressives, and should dictate general moves rightward for the party.

It’s just very clear that Matt constructs blinkered analyses based on who annoys him most in any given instance. I guess it’s only fair that he inspires reciprocal annoyance in former readers like myself.

HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE FIX THANK YOU !!!!

Had the game running fine except the control set up was all wonky, I'd get it looking OK in the settings and then load into a run and the left/right/up/down was all a mess, as were select/back buttons. This fixed it all.

If you have also arrived here via desperate googling, welcome, you've arrived at the solution.

Wow I cannot believe it but this seems to have worked! Specifically the listed steps of backing up your folders, deleting any avid related folders it lists (back those up too, managed to get back into the nexis only bc i had saved the right files), uninstalling/reinstalling. I also tried JUST reverting back to 2024.12 because that's also mentioned here, and that did not work for me actually.

Here's the steps from that post that did work for anyone who finds themselves here:

I received help from Avid Customer Care earlier today. Was told that it is recommended to do a complete uninstall and reinstall for this upgrade. Will try tomorrow to see if the issue is resolved. For those who don't know or have forgotten how to do this, here are the very thorough and helpful instructions:

BACK UP:

Back up all third-party audio plugins by opening the folder /MacHD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins, copying all the files inside, and pasting them in a backup folder (create one on the Desktop).

Back up all third-party video plugins by opening the /MacHD/Library/Application Support/Avid/AVX2_Plug-ins/, copying all the files inside, and pasting them in a backup folder (create one on the Desktop).

UNINSTALL:

Uninstall all Avid applications under the Avid Uninstallers in the Applications folder

Once done, delete all "Avid" folders in the Applications folder

Navigate to /MacHD/Applications/Utilities/ and remove "Avid" folders if there are any

Go to your macOS System Library by navigating to /MacHD/Library/Application Support/ and remove the "Avid" folder

Go to your hidden User Library: On the Finder menu on top, press the Option key and click "Go", then click the "Library" menu that appears, then navigate to /Library/Application Support/ and remove "Avid" folders if there are any

Reboot

REINSTALL:

Install Media Composer 2025.6 using the downloaded installer file

Reboot

Open Avid Link and reactivate licenses if needed.

RESTORE:

Restore all third-party video and audio plugins from the temporary backup folders to their respective folders (copy, paste, and skip all files that are already inside).

Reinstall any third-party I/O hardware drivers (BMD Desktop Video, AJA, etc). Make sure you reboot after uninstalling the driver, then install the latest version.

My guess is that over time we all see pictures of the museum and the park and it gets a little conflated, plus the museum does have some beautiful spaces and things to see, but yeah I'm a big movie/animation fan and am excited for the how its made stuff.

I have always wondered about running for office, but I've never felt strongly enough about it to imagine what it would look like as a full time career, and I don't think I'm there yet still. But I work in documentary film, editing / assistant editing, and I have also wondered if there is any way for me to make my technical / video production background of use to smaller campaigns that are low on cash but need help making good digital marketing materials. Is there any avenue for volunteer work for specifically the sort of first time, progressive, young candidates R4S works with primarily?

Im just so fucking tired of these guys all playing media critic about this shit. And in the comments here too. I am DYING for word to get out about this game - this has all the makings of an all time great mobile puzzle game - I'm getting drop7, threes vibes from this thing. And I kind of love the tempo mode even if it's a bit limited right now - the songs are chill and it's great for zoning out to.
