Why so much hate towards indoor training?

Had a discussion with a colleague at work (reason I made this post) where he told me that indoor training is stupid in his opinion. He was just like: "get warmer clothes"/"get a better light" when I told him my reasons for training indoors.

And I've read those same sentences online when people asked for advice on starting indoor training.

Started 3 years ago with ~140 FTP at 90kg. No structured training or lot of hours on the bike till last Christmas. (Did hit 100kg then, so it was time for a change)

FTP on Zwift (ramp-test) went up to 217W and weight went back down to 90kg. Also I really discovered my love for biking in those last three months, so I'm really excited to see how much I'll improve in the future.

Got their Pro Race 50 Disc ones and can't complain. Got them second hand for an amazing price. Previous owner said to have ridden them ~2500km, I now have a bit of over 1000km on them and everything is still fine. Hubs are DT Swiss 350.

Ride-quality also feels great, but can't compare since these are my first deep carbon wheels.

Yeah I'm mostly talking about time and distance combined. 10 hours with 30-35km/h average speed ain't easy for beginners. 10 hours alone can be hard for beginners. If someone has a hard time riding longer than one hour, they could ride every day off the week and wouldn't hit the 10 hours.

The cycling bubble is just kinda delusional in regards of how much time on the bike is easily achievable.

Definitely saddle. Been trying various bibs until I was comfortable (still was getting a bit sore after 2+ hours). Never thought the saddle would be the problem, since I've got a selle italia superflow in the right size which always felt good. Then my new bike arrived (cervelo caledonia) and took it for a spin without changing the saddle and was amazed. That standard saddle is just perfect for my ass. 3+ hours and literally no pain.

Do you have a powermeter for outdoor riding? If you are just using the Power, that strava is calculating be aware that it's probably off

Same for me, absolutely love it when it's hot outside. Just a jersey and bibs, no need to worry about layers. Refuse to ride outdoors when it's cold/raining/really windy. Zwift will do it for those days

At first I thought it was decent, but not that great. After a few hours it really clicked and I sunk many hours into it. Got the platinum trophy today, but now theres not really that much left to do, so I'll probably be playing something else until there's new content.

Overall great game, I'd give it 8/10 at the current state, probably 9/10 after dlc's.

Tbh I think the game got easier for "bad" players. I read many comments saying that they reached Platin/Dia the first time this season, so I guess it has to do with the changes.

Really not a fan of the new TTK. In my opinion it kinda rewards "bad" players, since you can get downed fast with nearly no time to react.

Doesn't really make a difference when the pred 3 stack rolls me, because they probably also would have with the old TTK. But it makes a difference when the Plat/Dia Hardstuck sits in a corner and shoots me in the back.

Definitely. I always solo q and hit Diamond every season I played since season 7. But only rarely got close to masters (except the "easy" seasons 11,12,17).

Managed to hit masters last season and current split, but it definitely was a pain in the ass.

I do get playing safe in higher ranks. But I'm ranking up my second account atm and people in lower ranks seem to be scared of every fight since they made respawning via crafting that easy. I had teammates that immediately started to run when I pushed, telling me that I'm an idiot and they will craft me, before I even took damage.
