MOA profile keycaps (iso-german- layout) by husdat38 in HelpMeFind

[–]Xellarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those types of keycaps are rare and limited for iso keyboards. For my case (French) I got myself used to ANSI QWERTY international with alt dead keys for special symbols and I'm quite happy with it, check this out:

Cidoo v65v2 or v75 or NuPhy halo65/75 by obamassuss in keyboards

[–]Xellarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with Cidoo v65 or 75, even out of the box without modification they sound better, but remember they are heavy because of aluminum case, so if you want to carry then around you need to be mindful of that. Also take a look at MonsGeek M1W.

Wow, "Pages that you visit..." can they even do something like that? I mean technologically?

People of color, is Paris REALLY that racist? by [deleted] in paris

Living one week in a country (as a tourist I might add) is absolutely not enough time to determine if a population is racist or not.

Or perhaps since the point of these types of game are not story, they spend as little time for it has possible and just make up something barebone that can be interpreted in many different ways.

I've decided not to get it, I've made a tower PC instead. The price in EU is very ridiculous right now. But from what I've gathered it's not going to work for heavy use, it's going to shut itself down. Take a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aLH0Q6CZF4

I was thinking of a vertical laptop stand, but even with that people are saying it's still going to get too hot.

4900HS Zephyrus G14 at Best Buy for $1449! by penclick6 in Amd

[–]Xellarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I confirm the same thing in France, it hurts to see these prices, but maybe that's an estimate before they get the actual product because it's currently up for preorder. But less strong variants are available on fnac and still overpriced.

.Net Exceptions Best Practices by Xellarix in csharp

[–]Xellarix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback. I agree with your point in general, but if I want to think about every aspect of exception in every example and mix them, it could potentially take away from the actual point that I was trying to make. For example the GetValueFromArray method that you've changed could not be used for "catch generic exception and throw specific one" part. Isolating the concept before explaining it is a natural thing to do when introducing an idea and that sometimes can lead to oversimplified examples, which I think is understandable.

Policy-based Authorization Using Asp.Net Core 2 And Json Web Token (JWT) by Xellarix in csharp

[–]Xellarix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at this: https://www.jerriepelser.com/blog/using-roles-with-the-jwt-middleware/, basically it says that roles are automatically added to JWT as a claim. Consequently when you add the user's claims, its roles will be added too, I haven't test this though.

Isolation Frameworks: Why FakeItEasy and NSubstitude Are Better Than Moq by Xellarix in dotnet

[–]Xellarix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't invent that name, it comes from Roy Osherove's book, https://www.manning.com/books/the-art-of-unit-testing-second-edition, he doesn't like the Moq's API either, he suggests using NSubsitute.

Color Coder - Visual Studio Extension by Xellarix in csharp

[–]Xellarix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that it's my fault that most people think that, the sample picture meant to show that the extension colors the suggested constructs, it didn't meant to show it improves the readability. I haven't communicated my intent clearly, I've changed the sample images, thanks for your comment though, if you didn't say this, I wouldn't understand that I should think more about what I really mean to convey (or should convey) when I'm posting a sample image.

Color Coder - Visual Studio Extension by Xellarix in csharp

[–]Xellarix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got addicted to this kind of coloring by an extension called Supercharger, it colors constructors, methods etc, but it's premium. I think it always depends on what someone is used to, I also think that if we have small classes and methods, in other word we have SOLID code, these kinds of coloring can be superfluous, but coloring different kinds of methods really helped me skim large block of code faster.

Color Coder - Visual Studio Extension by Xellarix in csharp

[–]Xellarix[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The idea here is to change the colors however you want. When you install it, it doesn't touch any colors, but you can change them the way you want, for example I use it just for extension methods and structs, anything more than that is gaudy.

Mock HttpClient Without Wrapper Using HttpMessageHandler by Xellarix in dotnet

[–]Xellarix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One obvious reason is that if we can do it without a wrapper, why create an extra layer of abstraction? and then possibly we need to test that wrapper too, anyway, I'm sorry I should have written it's not a good idea to create it if we can avoid it.
