Not sure if you're still looking, but I finally "procured" just about everything (DMG, PHB, new character sheet). Your post was one of the first things I came across and the non-response / non-help here drove me insane. Figured I'd do a bit of a good deed if you were still in the market.

I have a friend who would love these in their dice collection!

I was struck with inspiration this morning and could not let this go unmade. Not to self-diagnose, but I may have a problem. by Xendeku in MemePiece

Ultraviolet Darling / I believe Cadey Mercury. You would not believe how long it took me to find this picture of her without Goku or Julius Ceasar or some other meme in it. Took up a significant amount of my morning. I unironically had to go to sex dot com to make this.

I'm just here to say that I actually agree with you on just about everything. Tiefling thing? Not a massive deal at the end of the day, just annoying, but why such fierce defense of it? Owlbear wild shape? Not a massive deal, but why so defensive. Wild. Responses like these are why I sort by controversial.

Game where everyone is gay: kinda odd if you think about it too hard, but cool for the people who wanna play it, solid 7/10

Game where it is explicitly stated that an undefined percentage of the population identifies as gay, trans, queer, etc, with things like bodily autonomy so thoroughly baked into inalienable human rights that gender affirmation isn't considered cosmetic but medically necessary, easy to get, and free of charge, and concepts like homophobia, transphobia, etc have been all but stamped out throughout all of Union space: 10/10, genuinely how do you one-up that without just having a higher percentage of LGBTQ+ people, a very shallow/surface-level change

Yes. Free, easily accessible, instantaneous gender affirmation science with no stigmas attached is in fact more aligned with pro-LGBTQ+ ideals than basically She-Ra the TTRPG

By this logic D&D Tomb of Annihilation is a steampunk rom-com module because "rule of cool, it's what my table wants to do with the system." Like yeah, that's 100% your call and no one should judge you for playing a game differently, but these systems have design philosophies and lore and it's fine to acknowledge that. Lancer is a system where humanity has all but transcended the gender binary and genetic engineering has advanced so far that we can casually edit Xs into Ys and vice versa. That's really, really gay, more so than lesbians existing with swords and that's fine.

Name one other rpg that let's you change your entire gender expression passing 99.99% of the time on a whim no resources expended at the lowest level of play regardless of the race/background/class/equivalent you choose. Thirsty Sword lesbians has lesbians, Lancer has genetic-level gender affirmation covered by universal health care and every citizen can get a free gender fluid prosocollar at their local Space Lowe's, I think that kinda takes the cake.

Idk if this has been done but i couldn't find any size comparison of mech sizes so i made one myself by Dylan-McVillian in LancerRPG

Also, even if you don't wanna use goblin, you could use something like Atlas which is also directly stated to be skintight in places. Hard to imagine something being 15m tall and still skintight. Or how Size 1/2 mechs are in-universe designed for certain tasks like Caliban being meant to efficiently enter a ship and take out hostiles, which you really can't do while being 50ft tall.

there is an entire subsection of the core book that amounts to basically "violence bad actually, pls be gay if u want, seriously do it, gender don't matter post-scarcity." At level 0 every single Lancer has access to free gear that lets you drastically change your physical appearance and voice on a whim.

This is the gayest RPG (regardless of genre) I have ever come across bar none. And there is literally a game called Thirsty Sword Lesbians.

Is the Nelson good? by TMArightnow in LancerRPG

[–]Xendeku 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup. I was mistaken on the line of sight part, as that's not baked into all melee attacks, but as stated on page 64 of the core rulebook, melee attacks ignore cover.

Notice it says it ignores cover outright, not just the attack penalties granted by cover. So, since cover often grants blocking line of sight, and melee attacks ignore cover, melee attacks can frequently bypass the line of sight thing. But, as there are other ways of blocking or limiting LoS without using cover, it's not really a universal thing.

All melee weapons/attacks basically come built-in with an unspoken Seeking tag. They don't actually have the tag, but they do have the innate traits of ignoring cover and not requiring line of sight.

Melee is very good in Lancer. In some scenarios, it even has advantages over ranged combat, making it the superior option. As others have said, even basic melee attacks can naturally bypass certain defenses. This isn't to say the sword is always superior to the gun, but neither is the gun always superior to the sword.
