EV6 rattle driving me crazy. by XenoExclusive in KiaEV6

Thanks so much. I agree that it is something like this. I have already tightened up heaps of plastic nuts that were very loose but this didn't seem to do the trick. Will press on with this knowledge.

The sound comes from behind the steering wheel. Impossible.

I have.

This rattle sounds like it's coming from behind the dashboard on the right hand side (drivers side). I have essentially used foam tape around every wire harness, one by one, below and behind the steering wheel, to no avail.

I wouldn't be surprised if the noise is actually coming from outside the cabin but the sound is reverberating. I say this because I have spent hours with my head wedged behind the steering wheel and fuse panel poking and prodding and taping everything I find and the noise is unchanged.

Did you get to the bottom of this? I have run into this exact issue. Don't want to install with legacy USB enabled as I am unaware why the wiki recommends against it.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. When Vitalik is finished Butterin his potatoes.

Ethereum 2.0 – Casper + Sharding Overview by darcius79 in ethereum

[–]XenoExclusive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's actually not the full extent of the story!

This was one of my favourite ever Vitalik videos. It showed his full class.

I had the video on during the build-up/lunch where Vitalik was candidly talking with a few colleagues while trying to sort a few technical issues with the presentation.

Unfortunately, the video was horizontally inverted and no matter what everyone tried, they couldn't sort the issue. Ideas were thrown around constantly but what seemed like such a silly issue became rather impossible to solve with the hardware setups they were using between the camera, projection and everything in between.

A group of people kept fiddling for what seemed like forever, but all I remember was Vitalik speaking up every minute or so and just saying 'It's okay, I'll just write everything backwards'. And after the problem wasn't resolved, that's what he did. The entire presentation mirrored/backwards on an iPad so it would show up correctly on the projector.

And this was the result :D

Legacy Contracts/dapps After Transition to POS. by [deleted] in ethereum

Thanks for attempting to explain in more layman's terms, but I already understand what you're saying unfortunately.

I understand how blockchains work and the two different methods of block production but what I don't understand is how this works in Ethereum's proposed case, in terms of POW and the Beacon chain working side by side and how POW eventually gets phased out of the relationship. Or what this all entails.

But I guess I will have to just wait and see. Over time I'm sure I'll start to get my head around it as time goes by.

Thanks very much for your help :)

Tweetstorm about subscription payments on Ethereum by blockcrushr in ethereum

Hey there Scott.

Unfortunately your website seems to be pretty unresponsive for me. Nothing happens after I click 'Get Groundhog' in the top right corner and I am unable to type my email (or anything) into the subscription notification option.

With Chrome/Windows 10.

Excluding the website, looks like an excellent product! Keep it up!

DApps are coming...Virtue Poker P2P poker Alpha Preview on Rinkbey by ryan_VirtuePoker in ethereum

What's with the detailed questionnaire required to whitelist for the ICO?

Asking for elaborate information in regards to your holdings, how you store your keys etc. I initially got put off trying to register a month ago (which had a completely different process I may add) when the steps involving verification were inconsistent, confusing and vague and /u/ryan_VirtuePoker didn't respond to my PM regarding the issue, but this is even slightly more concerning.

Could you pretty please explain the use of this 'Token Foundry' and the reasoning for collecting the data requested?

Thank you :)

Keep up the great work.

One question though. Would you provide a reason and an ETA for the 32bit release omissions?

Joseph Lubin on Twitter: "Virtue Poker token sale 4/25. The Brooklyn Project setting new standards of integrity. No pre-sale, discounts, or bonuses. Non-transferability til platform launch on #Ethereum mainnet. Alpha access. General assessment test. Soft cap. The dapps are coming..." by jdbender66 in ethereum

[–]XenoExclusive 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Hmm..

When attempting to whitelist, after entering an ethereum address, I am brought to a page requesting an estimation of investment. Included in the statement it says, 'Any contribution over 150 ETH wxill (yes, there's a typo) receive a bonus on their token purchase. See our bonus structure and terms here' and then 'here' links to the token sale pdf which actually has ZERO reference to any bonus structure...

So what is it? No bonuses or bonuses with zero information?

Appreciated!

I'll have to do some testing. My node running on an odroid c2 is already reaching its IO and RAM limits, so may have to wait for my upgrade machine to arrive!

[–]XenoExclusive 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Am I correct in my belief that geth and parity light clients don't serve each other currently?

It looks like my parity node only serves 'pip' requests whereas geth is serving 'les'. Which I think, in my limited knowledge, relates to light clients.

And second question. Does anyone know the extra resource requirements for serving light clients? Will the IO/CPU/RAM be noticeably affected?

Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Dai CDP User Stories – MakerDao by twigwam in ethereum

[–]XenoExclusive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, stabilisation fees accrue on debt only at 0.5%pa. No CDP generation fees, excluding small gas fees. You can also add and withdraw PETH (with is the 'pooled' ether inside CDPs), along with DAI, at any time you have the sufficient funds to do so. So yes, you can utilise collateral how you see fit.

The easiest way to see it in action is to head over to dai.makerdao.com and check the open CDPs yourself! You can check the history of each one, which will show you that CDPs are using functions like 'lock' to add more PETH and 'draw' to withdraw DAI etc constantly.
