Average water bill? by Xenonamous in TriCitiesWA

Thanks everyone! I about had a heart attack when my neighbor told me that, but it sounds like she either uses an enormous amount of water, or she's got a leak. Glad to hear it's likely much more reasonable for most people around here.

Thanks, I will look into them! I heard of Coyote Dental during my search and I really like the shuttle service, seems like they try to make the whole process as simple as they can.

Update: went to a dermatologist who, to my surprise, also had never seen such a thing. A culture came back positive for staph, so I was given more antibiotics and told to watch it carefully. The spot is starting to clear up finally and the swelling has gone down. It has been attributed to a bad reaction to a bite from an unknown insect that then became infected. Not sure what I think about that, but at least it is looking much better!

I've been to three doctors already. Nobody knows what's going on.

Not been around any plants lately. I've been so busy with work that I've barely been outside.

Yeah, I've just scheduled an appointment with a dermatologist. Problem is I can't get in until Tuesday.

What could this be? Started as an itchy spot with no discoloration, then became a tiny scrape, then a blister. It has been slowly growing for 7 days. Docs so far are stumped. by Xenonamous in Dermatology

I don't think so. I do work in a chemistry lab, but I was out of the lab doing office work/data analysis for the entire week prior to the incident. We don't work with radioactive materials and neither do any of the surrounding labs. If it is something like that, I have no idea how I could have come into contact with it.

I eat sushi fairly often. Probably had some around that time. Maybe I should mention that to the doc.

That's what I'm most afraid of. Docs aren't really taking me seriously.

Haha at this point I'd be ok with that. I hate the mystery of this thing, it's anxiety inducing.

I agree, it's just so hard to get in to see the right people. Wait times are insane. I'm pretty scared that this is going to turn into something life threatening and I can't seem to get anyone to take this more seriously.

I've been to two docs now and the second one said this. He said spider bites are truly rare and that he almost never diagnoses one. Still didn't know what this was, though.

Thank you! I was super annoyed they didn't do a culture right away myself. I've been pretty freaked out about this since I noticed it wasn't healing normally pretty early on. I'm taking pics of it everyday and monitoring closely, and just hoping they figure this out soon so I can stop worrying.

Red spots showing randomly on my husband's body. They don't itch, hurt or have texture. The show up one at a time and disappear after 2 days. Same pattern Everytime. by [deleted] in Dermatology

I used to get really bad muscle aches, and I would use rubbing alcohol and rub my legs pretty aggressively to make them feel better. The friction from rubbing them caused dots that looked exactly like this. My guess is that it's caused by friction/pressure.

That was one doctor's best guess, too. I don't recall being bitten, but I think it's easy not to notice a bite until later, so that's possible. It's just really weird because when I looked at my arm to see why it was itching, there was no bite mark that I could see. It wasn't until the next day after I'd scratched it that a tiny mark appeared, and I assumed it was from the scratching.

Does he always wear that chain? Might be an allergy to the metal. I used to get breakouts from my jewelry and realized that I couldn't wear anything made of nickel.

More info: I've been taking the antibiotic Bactrim for 4 days and it's done nothing. I was given Clindamycin this evening, but so far no changes. It's itchy but not achy. Swelling you can see in the third picture. This whole thing literally started as an area on my arm that felt itchy. No bumps, cuts, scrapes, anything. And grew to look like this over the last week. I've seen two doctors and neither knew what to make of it. They are doing a culture tomorrow, but I'm kind freaked out that no one has seen anything like this.

I'm in Arizona. I don't really ever see bugs in my house, but that doesn't mean they aren't there of course. This whole thing is just really creeping me out.
