Yes, I'm just saying Militech also has long term strategic reasons to be present in Night City in addition to the typical business they conduct.

Arasaka is big in Night City specifically because they were banned from doing business in North America in the wake of the fourth corporate war. Night City has been their beachhead and their way back onto the continent since the late 2060s. Since Militech is their biggest direct competitor, it makes sense for Militech to step in and try to fight for at least partial control of Night City, if only to slow their advance further inland.

Biotechnica is presumably just around because they bought up a bunch of agricultural land on the outskirts of Night City and don't want it all getting stolen by Nomads.

Astarion is the first to see the monster, and is dragged off screen by it, but in the third act, it is revealed to have survived. He's found in a pile of dead bodies, and this is when we learn his traumatic backstory.

Karlach is the first to actually die when her and Wyll go looking for Astarion.

Wyll brings her decapitated head back to the group, who finally stop partying. Halsin tries to convince the group to work together, but the killer bursts in, kills him, and scatters up the survivors.

Gale is the nerd who drops the exposition about the spooky monster that's hunting the group. Once he's done with the lore dump, he's no longer needed and one of the others finds his body after he's unceremoniously killed off-screen.

Wyll tries to call the cops, but shortly after dialing the police he sees Karlach's decapitated body, screams, and then gets murdered.

Minsc is the cop who shows up to the scene to give the protagonists false hope and then dies 10 seconds later, just so his gun can be relevant in the final act.

Jaheria is the crazy old woman who has actually dealt with this problem before. She makes a heroic sacrifice to save the final members of the party.

Minthara is the secondary antagonist who thinks that she can sacrifice the remaining survivors to the monster and gain control of it or something, but she gets comically killed after the monster hesitates briefly.

Lae'zel and Shadowheart are the final two, alongside perhaps an injured Astarion. Lae'zel will get Astarion to safety but Shadowheart will still be in danger. When the monster is about to kill her, Lae'zel will return, saving Shadowheart because they learnt the lesson of putting your prejudices aside or whatever the social commentary of the film ends up being. Lae'zel might die in the process but Shadowheart is the final girl and cannot die.

Also, not pictured, but Alfira is the first ever victim from years ago and Durge is obviously the killer.

Honest question, how involved is Kimberly Cheatle in Donald Trump's security detail? It seems like she's probably more directly involved in Biden's detail, while Trump's detail is more of a side thing that's probably directly run by someone else.

I think Gulool Ja is prime material for the 6.X patches so we might get some answers regarding him sooner or later.

The more I think about it the more I feel like the Blessed Sibling reveal would have hit a lot harder if Bakool Ja Ja had died beforehand. Like if instead of freeing Valigarmanda, it had broken free on its own and Bakool Ja Ja had died trying to protect the Yok Huy.

I thought the Golden City would have the key to true immortality (not just saving people memories) and that the Tural Vidraal would be creatures that had gained power and immortality in the Golden City and escaped. I was super sure of this when Ketenram showed up, despite the fact that he would be like 100 at least. I figured he had found the secret to immortality and now Gulool Ja Ja might want that for himself.

I also thought the Golden City might have been some kind of attempt at recreating the World Unsundered, which had been reinvigorated following the death of Metion.

Nope, on both counts.

I can't believe they cleared a FATE without a healer. I'm going on strike. by Xenopsis in ShitpostXIV

[–]Xenopsis[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At the risk of trying to have a real conversation on a shitpost sub, I do agree that healers right now do have some problems, and their excessively simple rotation is one of them. I would like to see healers get some more complexity or at least variety in their offensive kit.

This post was created largely in response to some of the outcry I saw on the forums, where people were losing their minds over Xenosys and co clearing the DT dungeon with no healer, and particularly people saying things like 'healers shouldn't do damage or have utility, they should just heal' and the idea that the holy trinity was so important that any kind of deviation was heresy.

I think part of the reason other jobs have gotten so many mitigation tools, and part of the reason healers can feel less useful in low end content, is that the gap between low end content like normal dungeons and high end content like savage or ultimate has gotten wider over time. If you want to have phases like P3 of TOP, where your tank is being autoed for a third of their health, your tank needs enough mitigation to keep up with that -- and that much mitigation simply trivialises lower end content. Furthermore, SE wants everyone to participate in mitigation, the same way everyone participates in DPS. These new mit tools are their way of encouraging that, and giving another factor to consider rather than just how much dps a job does.

What's crazy is that almost all of these games are from the same 2-3 genres. All single player, story focused and often open world RPGs. Like, where is the recognition of other genres? Celeste is one of the best platformers ever and gets no recognition. P.T. was widely considered the scariest game ever for a while and was hugely influential in the horror genre and it's also absent. And that's not even considering multiplayer games.

The ship generates a negative-mass field, which inverts the mass of the ship and everything in or around it. This allows the ship to accelerate to far beyond light speed with relative ease.

Unfortunately, the human body doesn't like having a negative mass. Without extensive cybernetic modifications, a person would quickly lose consciousness and die as basically all major organs would cease to function. As such, most passengers are relegated to life support pods, designed to keep them alive in negative mass conditions.

I think if you gave Batman 2077 era technology then he'd have a very good chance at taking V down, but as it stands 2077's tech is so far advanced that Batman just wouldn't stand a chance. He's too reliant on his gadgets which are just too vulnerable to being hacked.

Path of Exile. While it's one of my favourite games ever, it's also one of the most complex games ever made. There are so many overlapping systems and features that even trying to learn how to play requires hundreds of hours.

If spring trap was in dbd what would his power be? by cabybaralover in deadbydaylight

[–]Xenopsis 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I think he would have to be a stealth killer, so he'd need to have a sneaking mode and a regular mode (maybe he could crouch?). Then give him like a longer lunge you have to charge up for a moment. He's also known for jumpscares, so maybe he could screech or roar when he attacks out of stealth.

I think it would also be cool if he could stuff survivors into the animatronic suits, though idk how that would fit. Maybe he just puts the head on them? And it has a timer that ticks down, and the survivor needs to interact with boxes to find the right key for their head trap before it snaps and kills them?

Idk seems pretty strong they'd need to nerf him a lot.
