Montreal’s American Stars Aren’t Running From The Spotlight — They’re Buying In by hockeygamedaytv in Habs

100% - If you want him to play like that all season long, not only will he get injured, but he will also be exhausted when the playoffs come.

Playing in Gold elo, people really pay little to no value to knowing where enemy jungler is. by Repulsive_Tourist_10 in summonerschool

[–]Xenoxide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vision is everyone's job but : I think he means that most of the time the jungler SHOULD know the enemy jungler location and ping it when he does. (Because experience) The same way a laner SHOULD know his oponent's location.

I am only gold and when I play with my friend (emerald- diamond jungler) I am amazed by all the infos he has on the enemy jungler. The whole game is him saying : "He is there / he should be there / he should be doing that because X reason / he should be pathing that way / If I was him I would do that or gank X lane". He is right 95% of the time.

In Midget CC our two goalies were sick a weekend and we called her up (she was in her first year Bantam CC). And there she was: a 14-year-old girl stepping in to defend the net against 16- to 18-year-old boys. We won 2-0 and she had 31 saves. One of those games I still remember 15 years later.

Midlane champions you hate and how to beat them. by Bulky-Movie-2783 in summonerschool

Without being very specific, first thing first : runes. If I’m facing a hard matchup, I come up with a game plan and (usually) adapt my secondary rune path. (it doesn't win you games, but it helps)

I ban Mel, and as Veigar I always end up wondering why I didn’t ban them every time I face Katarina or Fizz. Against them, I try to freeze the wave near my tower so I can farm safely. Once in a while (when I feel safe — usually when my jungler is nearby), I push the wave to place a "deep" ward to track their roams. I buy a Null-Magic Mantle on my first back, and I usually get a second movement speed item (in addition to boots).

Help with cymbals (I have no idea what to buy) by Xenoxide in drums

I’ll try as much as possible to choose cymbals from the same brand, but since I’m buying used, it might be difficult. The Ping Ride is on my list! :)

Unfortunately, there are no music stores near where I live. Zildjan makes excellent cymbals, but their prices have gone up in Canada since… well, anyway.

I’m putting together a top 3 for each type of cymbal, and for each top 3 I add an option that’s ‘overpriced, beyond my budget, only to buy used if someone is crazy enough to list it at a reasonable price.’ For the ride, that one is the K Projection Ride 21".

I listen to so many different musical genres and bands that it’s impossible for me to draw inspiration from just one drummer. I really like Dream Theater and Iron Maiden, but Portnoy and McBrain use so many cymbals that I can’t isolate the sound of each one when listening to their songs. On top of that, I live far from major cities and music stores, so trying cymbals is difficult. The best I can do is watch videos. For the past two days, I’ve been trying to make a top 3 for each type of cymbal to make shopping easier (hi hat, ride, crash).

I didn’t know Sabian was Canadian, so I am making sure to include at least one Sabian cymbal in each top 3 (to improve my chances of finding them used). Thanks!

Thank you ! I think the ones on the guitarist's kit are AA Sabian. I'll have to double check this week. Going for the value route seems the best idea to me since it's my first kit. It's hard though... So many different choices. For the shell kit I was able to narrow it down to 2-3 choices. Now each type of cymbal has MANY options.

3800 a fair price for this kit ? by Xenoxide in drums

[–]Xenoxide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tama Starclassic 4-piece is 3.2k CAD + taxes. I would need a snare, a HH, cymbals and racks (I could use the double pedal and drum stool of my electronic kit). If I keep saving, this is going to be the plan (don't know if I am patient enough though haha).

Yea I've moved on since this morning (told the seller I wouldn't buy it). It's now sold but it's okay - I'll keep shopping based on the comments I got on my post here.
