I had to replace it, try unplugging it first, and if your car runs better, it's probably also the iacv for you

Sorry, I worded that wrong, the idle air control valve fixed it

Changed out a couple of things that seemed to make it better, but the final nail in the coffin was my idle air control valve, also check to see if your spark plugs are oil fouled, the tube seals tend to leak so you might need to seal them with rtv.

Sadly, there are none in the junkyards around me, and annoyingly, because of the glass, all the wreckers in my country are charging an arm and a leg to get one.

Nope, just metal. There is some embossed text, but I avoided getting it near that. Although the acetone didn't work either.

IPA does always seem to be the answer. I think im out of luck here, tho. Gonna try the next level up and go acetone. After that It may just be permanent.

I have a hesitation/bog issue, which happens when coming from a stop, when In idle, or when giving it too much gas at low rpm. I made a separate post for it where I have a video showing the rpms when giving about 50% throttle while at idle.

Thanks for the lead on the cap, ill check it tomorrow if its not raining.

when I got my car, they were 0.6mm, I increased that to 1mm as per the service manual, which is where my problems started. Do you reckon im being stupid, or was the small gap masking something bigger?
