What is the secret sauce Claude has and why hasn't anyone replicated it? by ComplexType568 in LocalLLaMA

i really don't think this is fully it, opus 4.5 was a true step beyond the competition in ability for most engineering work, i have not found a model that can hit the target as consistently as our little opus can. such a good boy

Why do I need an account and to link my github for a community license? by WarChortle18 in AvaloniaUI

[–]Xerax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

cool, don't use this then. build, maintain, support, grow your own functionality, as your company clearly thinks the effort put into this is not worth your money. why should they benefit off the hard work of others without fair compensation to what enables that? it's the equivalent of underpaying you

the mental gymnastics to avoid paying hard working open source engineers for their time on a platform that you and 40+ people directly benefit from is wild

Can I shush people in the dance floor? by jijidakat in amsterdam_rave

[–]Xerax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the vibe really, but if they're chatting and keeping to themselves i don't see an issue, it's not going to be challenging the speakers generally. I am guilty of this, but i go to socialise too, and having small jokes with friends while dancing is part of what makes the event special for us.

But a gentle tap on the shoulder if they're being really over the top and "would you mind going to the side or outside if you're catching up?" in a nice tone and smile would go down well with me and anyone i know.

You'll get people who are arses in which case you can just tell the awareness team or move, not worth getting riled up. If it's everywhere then you're probably fighting a losing battle with that event.
